eXceed TJ07 loop reconstruction/work log (realtime) (no 56kers die)

Basically I've decided to meet current needs of graphics and cpu hardware my current build has to be updated to what it really should have been in the first place.

ATM my TJ07 has a the following watercooling components installed:
- BIX240
- Alphacool NexXxoS XP Bold Sockel 775
- Laing D5
- DangerDen 5 1/2" single bay reservoir


I have the D5 and BIX in the bottom along with my Enermax Liberty 620W. Here are some pics for those that are interested:

At some point this year I will be upgrading my computer with 2 x AMD Quad Core Agena FX's (that is if they don't suck...) and a R650/70 (again if they don't suck) so I plan on upgrading to these components:
- Thermochill PA120.3
- Thermochill PA120.2
- 2 x 12V Laing DDC-1T Ultra w/Petras Tech DDCT-01s Top
- 2 x Dtek FuZion cpu block
- DangerDen Single bay reservoir (thats on top of the current one I have)
- Swiftech MCW30 chipset block (unsure of how many I will need but will be ordering one at first to go on my current motherboard chipset)
- 40ft of Tygon 1/2" OD (I don't deal in small quantities, scared I'll run out during build - would get pissed off if I had to order more during build! -)

I of course am looking to build 2 separate loops because of the excessive heat output...

ATM I have reached really really really basic blue prints of what I plan on doing, and I only really made it to ensure I could theoretically fit everything down there. At first I was going to get 2 D5's but they won't fit and having read about the Petra Tech Ultra Top I don't know why I chose the D5 in the first place!

Here's the rough schematic/blue print/paint drawing (not actually made with paint but it looks poor in JPEG format...) I made:


I will update this thread as I get everything ordered up and finalised. All I need is any feed back on my build and also what to put into what loop. I am currently thinking:
- CPUs on the PA120.3
- GPU and chipset(s) on the PA120.2

And I have not got a waterblock planned for the GPU yet but will be looking for one as soon as they are released...

Nice, I love the look of the TJ07. Where are you planning on putting the 120.3? I'm sure two PAs on the bottom won't fit comfortably.

exceededgoku could you include an airflow diagram of what you're planning to do?

its like both sides gonna intake air thru rad thru fan and meet in the middle, maybe channel meeting air downwards towards the bottom of case?

and also maybe more unrestricted intake grills/filters?

but the basic idea is good... keep up the good work/paint/drawing/modding...

I hadn't thought about changing the grills... but I had thought about the airflow:

I imagine if I had arranged so that the fans would pull air then there would be turbulence in the middle which would affect temps negatively. I was toying with the idea of a fan pointing directly down the middle between the pumps and the radiators but I can see that also have a negative effect on temps...

so most likely plan some sort of filtered intake vents on the bottom to be pushed thru the rad by the fans...

or maybe invert rad fan placement so that pull cool air from bottom vents thru rad thru fan to case and out...

you could probably also use space beside PSU as another exhaust, if it would fit another 92mm fan there...

Just started looking at options for rad and pump placement. My PA120.3 staying down there, but as you can see the Galaxy psu takes up lots of room on the other side, about 11 inches to were the cables bend up. Just as well its modular!

Thought I'd see what it would be like if I tried to get both rads down there.

The other rad is a B I pro 240. Looks like its going to live with the top case fans.

Think I'll put both D5 pumps down with the PA, so the air can move better

nice build, that radiator looks mahooosive!!!! Hope for my sake that mines not that big... otherwise there will be some issues... although it works in practise!
EDIT: just saw the angle you have the camera at, yeah looks like there is plenty of space

At least the B I pro looks like the air will flow through the rows just as well as the PA.

Wait, in order to place a 120.3 and a 120.2 in the bottom, do you need to use 90deg bends? If so, would it kill your flow by much?

There is space to make a gradual incline, and with tygon there wont be any problems with kinks or such (hopefully )

I need some advice on the loops for my future setup:
Loop1
Res1->Pump1->PA120.3->Dtek Fuzion CPU block1->Dtek Fuzion CPU block2
Loop2
Res2->Pump2->PA120.2->R650/70 block->MCW301->MCW302 (not sure if the RD790 will have 2 chipsets since it will be dual socket)

Did you ever find out if this airflow combo, which has both sides as exhausts, was more or less effective say a more traditional airflow combo with one side being the inflow and the other being the outflow?

Im selling my Galaxy PSU just so I can fit both a PA120.3 and a PA120.2 in the bottom compartment, similar to what AndyM has done.

With regards to rad airflow I will be sucking air in from both sides and space permitting, exhausting that air straight up through the middle and out the top of the case. My PWM, SB & NB are going to be watercooled so ambient air temps arent an issue, save for my RAM which I won't be pushing huge FSB anyway.

I just wish I bought a TJ07 before hacking to bits a TJ09 and now realising it was a waste of money
