Anyone using GSkill PC-6400 HZ (F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ) with this board?

My question is what memory settings you are using, maybe if you could give me a picture of the BIOS screen. I only set the first 4 options to 4-4-4-12 but the rest is on auto. I'm not sure if this is the best idea or not. Does it matter?

    Thanks in advance

do the rest of the settings matter?

    I have it running now at DDR2-1020 5-4-4-12 1T 2.25v

This seems to be the best I can do with this setup.

    These sticks all obviously vary.

Mine will do about 1050mhz 4-4-4-12 with 2.3v. That's with fans over them.

Looking through the gskill forum, the only real mention of further sub timings are in conjuntion with Asus P5b Deluxe. As follows 4-4-4-12-4-42-3-11-7-13

(Edit: The order is different to the Abit's bios, and in fact may not work anyway. Here's a screengrab just for reference where the settings have been set as 10-10-10-10 instead of 3-11-7-13 http://www.gskillusa.com/motherboard..._2gbhz_002.jpg)

If you have the memory set to auto, you could run memset to see what timings are being set.

Well, I'l trying to keep the voltage under 2.3. I've already limited myself that much. I guess DDR2-1020 5-4-4-12 is good at 2.25

Sounds good Ace-a-Rue and shimmishim, except shimmishim - you gotta be joking right? What's the point with GLAN on PCI? It would saturate/choke the bus COMPLETELY. Are you sure? Both of them can't seriously be?

And where can I find more on this vmod?

I think IP35 Pro may very well be my next MB afterall.

Have you used a gigabit network? You never see max bandwidth used in day to day situations.

So I managed to screw up my bios flash and now the motherboard won't boot or display anything, it powers on but does not boot, is there a bios recovery method without having to get a new chip or do I need to contact abit and get chip.

if you can put the bios chip into another abit board and then hot flash it, that is about the only way i know of.

as far as the PCI bus working with the network chipset, i have not seen any sluggishness or other variant when using high speed cable connection...of course, i do not have any PCI cards plugged into the PCI slots....maybe when there is a PCI sound card or something else in the PCI slot, a problem might come up.

Looks like I get to go to fry's and pick up a new board when I get off work, I don't want to wait to get a bios chip shipped.

I run a X-FI in there with my LAN going and no problems.

Like I said day to day you'll never see the difference anyway.
