At least the performance decoding HD formats is good. So you are worried about something that is working good....
As I said discussing this is purely wasting a lot of time.

Also patents are used to protect the company tecnology, not to serv as manual of instruction of the grafic card.

Um, actually, it DOES matter, because the label on the box states my card does have UVD, while the reality is that it does not..maybe not important to you, but it is important to me...You do not own cards, and I do...maybe that's the reason for concern on my parts, perhaps?

Don't try to force your opinion on me..I'm not forcing mine, jsut simply stating the truth of the matter. you are stating that my concernes are trivial, due to performance. I say I PAID MONEY FOR UVD, SO I WANT UVD, OR I WANT MY MONEY BACK. local laws agree with me, so YOUR point is..well..wasted, in this respect.

I don't buy stuff based on press releases..they don't publically distrube these nor have them on the box that the product is sold in...product packaging is meant to highlight the functionality of the product within, and this product packaaging clearly stated UVD for my card...So, going by the "agency" law posted above, AMD HAS explicitly stated that the HD2900XT has this functionality.

However, I agree, no UVD is in hd2900XT...but had I known such before i made my purchase, I would not have made the purchase of so many cards..merely the 4 needed for my gaming systems, and not the extra 2 for the HTPC's. In this regard, I have every right to call foul, whether you think so or not...Your agreeing doesn't matter, because the local law agrees.
