Unhappy I've run into a little bit of trouble

Hello guys. I own DS3 1.0. Anyway i just bought another seagate 750 gig and up and running raid 0 after about 20 hours of having a hard time to get windows installed. If i used the drivers that are provided on gigabites site - at the end of vista 32 installation i'd get blue screen and would never be able to ever vista for the first time. So then i found someone having same probler and used something like 1.16 drivers. which got me into windows, boy was i happy after all those hours to finally install it. Anyhow now that im up and running i get a BSOD sometimes 1-2 times/day and other times i don't get it for days. Everytime it happens it reboots obviously and then when it boots im just stuck at that Raid (press Ctrl+G) to enter config screen. The only way to get around it is to reboot and enter bios and exit.. then it will let me continue and load windows. But again its a pain in a.. to get that BSOD few times/day or days. So i was thinking to updating raid0 with newest drivers for gigabites site. Am i allowed to do it within windows? because one time i did it, installation froze and it messed up my whole windows installation. So is it doable within windows? any of you not recommend using those drivers or can you tell me about better ones? Or are there any tweaks in bios i can do to improve Raid0 stability. I will greatly appriciate your help because its really driving me crazy. Thank you

tripleflip18, you may want to lower your FSB or increase your vmch and vfsb to stop the BSOD's from happening.

I actually run 376x8 24/7 and did try raising. but still getting blue screen, i think its to do with raid like i said earlier. i only run 426x8 when i need performace for fsx or games that require the speed.

    Ok thx.

The translation is something like this:

If they wanna improve overclocking, they need to make additional FSB and MCH voltages availible. Atleast up to +.5V on both... Higher vFSB = higher ram clocks, higher vMCH = higher FSB clocks...

I'll be testing in an hour or so and will report my results... Also Need some D9's... Powerchip IC's = the worst. Somehow I've been able to hit 500mhz fairly stable with 1x512mb in 4:5...

Here is a new beta for the S3:

    http://www.station-drivers.com/telec...65p-s3_f9b.exe

F9b, reading a posting on Station-drivers suggests a new beta for the DQ6 (F10b) is coming soon, also F5e beta for the DS3P.

Probably voltage failure on the oc? why not give it a try since you're getting bsod. Update us with the results.

Does anybody know if disabling AHCI will speed up the harddrive since disabling AHCI = disabling NCQ? Everywhere I've read, people gain significant performance boost by disabling NCQ. Has anyone had any luck disabling AHCI?

    Re-post

Can I re-post my little problem?
    I've a Gigabyte P965-DQ6 bios F9 with an E6600 clocked @3600, 9x400.
When i power on my system (maybe you can see in my sign) everything startup without problem, but in Windows (Vista or Xp is the same thing) I see only a core is detected.
After a very normal reboot of Windows also the second core is detected.
I write the situation to Gigabyte Support, but they suggested that maybe could be a cpu problem. Due to fact, I don't think so.
Vcore is set to 1.4500 in bios, and more does not help...maybe more stability in case of hour and hour of orthos...
I'm quite sure that another mobo, or a corrected DQ6 bios, doesn't present my problem.
    Any ideas or suggestion?
    Anyone agreed with me?
Thanks and sorry if I'm became boring

absolutly no at stock, nor at 8x400(3200)...but today when I powered on the pc, during Intel Raid bios screen I have pressed reset button and Windows has detect both core at first shoot!
i think i've to write to Gigabyte Support again and hope to be not the only one...maybe they could be correct something in future bios releases...

what if you fiddle with settings like c1e or virtualization. shouldn't have an impact but you never know i guess.. what are you running for vfsb and vmch? tried bumping those?

I prefer to keep enable cpu's feature settings...specially c1e helps power saving
    - at the moment i've set:

    ddr2 +0,50
    pci-e +0,10
    mch +0,25
    fsb +0,15
    cpu 1,450

    - ram timings are set manually, but using spd values(got from bios) for 800mhz.
    - pci-express is set to 100mhz.

Hey guys, I updated RAID Drivers with the latest from gig website and have not had a BSOD for 2 days!!! Im super excited about this as it seems vista runs perfect. I even got my printer setup cause drivers just came out!!! I almost love it. I have SB ZS audigy 2 and had to take it out because with the beta drivers i get BSOD. So im running onboard sound. Too me sounds the same, im just loosing a bit of CPU power.

Happy overclocking everyone, im almost 100% happy now
