    Guys...relax, let's get back on topic. OK so i'm well worn out from this whole overclocking experience. Seems with each new beta and official i have to stability test all over again.

    So right now i'm here and will probably stay here until something radical changes in Gigabyte bios updates:

    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=120933

    Some changes had to be made in voltages, yesterday i displayed a similiar validation, however i had not conducted any stability tests to verify the settings.

    To get the HZ memory to run 1000MHz i had to up the voltage from 2.2V to 2.25V. My other voltages are the same - Vcore is 1.36250V, (G)MCH is set to Normal, FSB is set to Normal, PCI-E is set to Normal, PCI-E clock frequency is set to Auto.

    My multi is 7x and the memory ratio is 4:5, manual memory timings of 4-4-4-12.

    As of now i am Orthos dual prime stable for 7 hours 47 mins, i am also running Windows Memtest at the same time to further stress the system, it also shows zero errors.

    I think this is the best i can do, and belive me...i've tried. Until a new bios allows a higher CPU speed or i get a week 27 CPU this looks to be it.

    Shing...it's still faster then an FX-60

    :-)

    turn off all cpu throttling.
    c1 eist thermal throttling
    in pc health disable all the temperature crap.
    lock the pci-e freq at 100mhz.
    lock the dram at 2.4v
    dram divider of 2.0
    cpu voltage - 1.5v
    FSB 400
    cpu multi 8x
    turn off EVERYTHING that your not using. EVERYTHING that means com ports and printer port. audio. sata... if your not using it turn it off.
    and like i said earler yank out that stupid X-Fi i have seen tons of people about that card giving them issues with their system stability.

    your doing something wrong

    and for gods sake... damn it put your hardware in your signature area so we can see what your hardware is.
    Twas all done, dammit...i've TRIED!

    Richard, I'm happy for you . Just one thing though, how have you managed to get 2.25V through your ram without the dreaded "DDR18V of doom" message in pc health? Default memory voltage is 1.8v so you have managed to get +0.45v to work on the ram? BTW I have teh exact same week cpu as you..

    EDIT:
    http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=120944

    I expect to get more out of my ram once the DDR18V is fixed

    Ooh the red "Fail" warning?...that still remains. Not a big deal...just a warning thingy. The memory is rated for 2.0-2.1V...but G.SKILL tech says 2.2V is safe, many have ran 2.3-2.4V through the memory...with a fan blowing on the memory.

    I have a Supertalent memory cooler, has two 40mm fans...does the job.

    p.s. you guys know that you can set the memory voltage to +0.325 without seeing the red "Fail" warning, right?

    That's 2.125V for those who don't know.

    if you read my posts a lot of them in the end says --- sory for my bad english --- but when i dont have reason i admit it , but i dont go talking about this anymore , if you think you have reason , OK you have reason , and welcome to the forum

    back on topic::

    anyone already tryed any F6 beta bios for DS3???

    im using F3 bios cause i use EISt and C1 enable with vcore default and F4 bios and F5 bios rise the vcore to 1.42v when Vcore is set AUTO in bios and we overclok CPU .

    they should use the vcore (1.325v) in all the bios like the F3 that dont rise the vcore to 1.42v, thats wy i steel using F3 bios :

    400x8 = 3200mhz
    EIST = enable

    C1 = enable

    Vcore = Normal

    with bios F3 the cpu run in full at 400x8 with 1.32v and when in idle run 400x6 and vcore 1.20v .

    with other bios the cpu run 400x8 in full but with vcore 1.42v , i can set manualy the vcore to 1.325v in bios but then when cpu its idle went to 400x6 and the vcore stay 1,32v and not 1.20v

    regards

    Sory for my bad english

    regards

    ye, I usually have my ram at +.35, so you're telling me that you can have the DDR18V warning message and you still manage to pass orthos "blend" test?

    Yes, the red "Fail" warning displayed in PC Health is just a warning message...nothing more. It won't effect overclocking. It's the same as how Gigabyte changed the colors for the different DDR2 voltages.

    Normal color upto +0.300V, +0.325-0.500V is pink, 0.525-0.775V is flashing red in color. It's just to warn folks.

    Could it get much easier?

    My e6600 (on DQ6) is annoying me, i seem to have one very weak core.

    I can prime etc for hours at 3.33ghz.

    If i raise it to 3.42ghz or similar, one core fails within 12-15 seconds. The other can continue for hours. This is with small FFTs, all other settings seem stable for at least an hour even on the weaker core.

    Increased voltage and/or cooling seem to make no difference. I keep hoping new bioses will help, so far no luck though.

    I get exactly the same problem when I raise to 390x9, I can put all the voltages in the world and it still won't accept it

    yes, it really is as simple as just pressing the "prt scr" - print screen button, then opening microsoft paint and clicking on edit followed by paste, and then save the file as a .jpeg file and upload it either thru imageshack or th forums (forums has a limit of 200kb on the file size). Hope this helps!

    CPU speed is wrong, for some reason if i use a multi other then 9x Windows XP displays the wrong CPU speed. CPU-Z and bios shows the correct speed..dunno why?

    ok someone who hates their DQ6 or DS4 send it to me... i want to prove they arent the big pile of crap everyone thinks they are. they are just tempermental.

    Richard.
    we should swap boards lol let you see what a good one does and at 100 bucks less than what you paid.

    seriously though i would love to get my hands on a DQ6 to test out especially one someone claims is jsut so frustrating to work with!!

    It's getting better...i was about to either RMA my board or sell it, since the new F5d and the advancement in FSB i'll keep it. Hopefully further bios revisions will improve things.
