    Project: Mortal

    Mortal

    Hey all!

You guys may remember my recent worklog HERE. I have decided to overhaul it, I wasn't happy with the spray paint - it scratches too easily for my liking. So I thought to myself, "Hmmm," and now I've decided to turn it into a dual loop/insane build.

Project name - Mortal One of the definitions of "Mortal" is "Deadly," this build is going to be "killer" Names are really hard to choose, I think this one will suit it perfectly once it's completed!

I'm going to be using the same hardware (Maybe changing the GPU to a 4870X2) but looks wise, it'll be a heck different. I'm not going to give TOO many secrets out but I can tell you a few small things -

    Loop 1 (TFC360/CPU/NB/EK 250/DCC3.2)
    Loop 2 (Dual radiator/GPU/EK 250res/DCC3.2)
    Murdermod backplate/top plate/mid plate
    Powdercoated interior

I'm not going to explain my ideas yet, It'll be a surprise! MurderMod parts should be here within the next 2-3 weeks. Liquid cooling gear required for my second loop is yet to be ordered, I need to "save" for a little bit longer!

I would like to thank Charles and Nils, both have been VERY inspirational to me and without them, I wouldn't have had such awesome fun/awesome opportunity to do such a thing with a case/sleeving. Cheers guys!

Anyway, cut to the point, a nice little package came in the mail today.

Vantec NexStar DX 5.25" Enclosure - This babay allows me to have an external DVD drive, it also means I can take it away with my laptop! An external DVD drive costs $130 and this was half the price! Bargin! (no DVD drive is included)
Lamptron FAN-ATIC 5-Port Military Switch Baybus - 60watts per channel, normally an average fan uses less than 10watts per channel - nough' said.

Now I have to wait for my MM gear to come, until then, hold tight!

    FINAL PICTURES

The red coolant looks pink in direct sun....when it's OUT of the sun but still in light, it's a dark deep red, looks awesome.

So here are some shots for you all!

    I love this frontplate.....gorgeous.

    The gUts

I had a bit of fun with this one!!

    Cable management.

    The shell.

I like the looks of that Fan Controller. ArmenianDave used one in his build as well.

There are a couple of Lamptron fan controllers. I saw that Shazza had some troubles with hers, but it was a completely different model. I've not actually heard anything good or bad about this particular model other than the fact that it looks cool (IMO)

I tested my controller the other day and I heard no whine on the low setting. From what I've read it depends on the fans being used. I do only have one fan per channel though, might be different if you load it up.

Thanks, I agree OCAU seems to be overrun with not so much idiots but people with high opinions of them selves.

By new build I though you meant new case.

Happy to see another worklog from you!

Let us know how that fan controller goes for you. As mentioned, I had the whine with the FC-2, but I'd think about the ATIC if we get some more good reports. I was using linked fans on the FC-2 ( 3x Scythe S-Flex E and 2X S-Flex E). I tested it with one Yate Loon medium, and didn't hear any whine.

DingDong is back! Hmmmmm I see you're one picture short of the 5 picture "recommended" per post.

Don't make me get SiGfever on you about that.

Two loops in the TJ07 is hard to pull off while looking good. I'm confident you should be able to, you have a few really good examples here like Dangal's build. Don't forget to enjoy the process.
