To be honest I don't really have a check on the costs. But the materials for the build is probably somewhere around $120 - 130, using the current currency. I could imagine the materials being cheaper in USA.

In my opinion, I'd say clean it up so you don't see any scratches, then give it a nice brushed finish with the steps shown, followed by a nice coat of polish.

can't you just clear coat brushed aluminum to get the look while preserving the finish?

Eddie, what you're saying is true. Brushed bare aluminum looks really slick but in the long run I think I would be more happy with a black case. I got hold of a company, actually close to me, that is powdercoating. I'm gonna pay them a visit and check out a couple of samples to see how the surface looks like after powdercoating. I have to think this over. There are a lot of things that you can do to the case which will look good.

This looks so good! Slightly similar to the XPS which works really well I agree that the brushed finish with clear anodising should look amazing.

norim_13: I got my backplate from dustinhome.se (http://www.dustinhome.se/pd_5010206251.aspx). But as suggested you can get them from PPC's.

The circuit of the fancontroller "belongs" originally to a Sunbeam 4channel rheobus. So what you're seeing is a stripped one.

Henry8601: Thanks man! Yes, It has got a little XPS in it but, I don't know if I meantioned this before, but I had the Idea of a leaning case long before XPS introduced their XPS series. So personally I don't see it as a rip off. But that's whats so great about internet. You can check a lot of cases and get inspiration. For example in this case you might see a little: TJ-07, XPS, Lian LI V2100, Murderbox. I've tried to take the best of both worls and combine it into one single piece.

Yet another updates for ya people

Have got a few things sorted. That includes an anti-vibration rad mount, a internal cover and I also got tubing and such delivered.

I think you have got a hang of the process now so I didn't take any photos of the marking and bending. But as you can see i got the cover cut out and bent.


It is mounted using thumbscrews.




I did a little thinking of how to mount the radiator and this is what I came up with.
Got 2x 15mm wide "strips" cut out. And drilled 6mm holes at the ends, in which I put some soft rubber grommets.


This is how it looks like in close-up (Yeah, it needs some sanding)


Checked the position of the radiator.


And bolted it down with some M3 regular screws.


Tried to mount my yates.


Countersunk the holes in the plastic frame and mounted the fans with M4 hex cap screws.
