The thing is though, that the motherboard won't allow any more than +0.35v to be added to the DRAM without producing a DDR18V fail in the pc health section. This usually results in orthos failing instantly.
BTW I've got orthos at 8hrs 416x8. I just need the DDR18V to be fixed and this motherboard will earn itself a plimpth (or however you spell it lol):

I seem to have the x-fi problem too, but reinstallation of the drivers makes it work again. Im now priming 440x8 at 1.46vcore previously i could only hit 8x410.
Again...please report the X-FI issue to Gigabyte, i emailed them also about the problem using a SATA optical on the Intel ports. When i enable USB Keyboard Support in bios my RAID array dissapears, when i have SATA optical + SATA drives all conected to the ICH8R.

I hope that the F5D for the DQ6 is not official, ... as it threw my machine into absolute chaos.Originally Posted by bingo13

I think it may be related to my Nvidia 7950 GX2, .. as during Re-Boots etc., .. I would get flashing screens (multi-coloured blocks etc etc), .. or, my Monitor would just switch off altogether, .. (although Windows is running -- I just can't see it). Often, .. when the screen wasn't flashing, .. it would just hang, .. or reboot intermittently.
I flashed back to F5C and everything is fine again.
As I said, .. it might be related to the 7950 GX2, .. but, there was enough nonsense going on, ... for me to give the F5D Bios a wide berth.
This is the first Bios, ... since F2, .. that has ever given me any problems.
Cheers
Tom

1) Flash the bios with upgrade from beta F5B to the new Beta F5C
2) I turn off PC and Clear CMOS
3) I Turn ON PC go in the bios and selected "Load Optimized Default"....I saved with F10 key and rebooting system
4) after rebooting all OK, I return in the bios for setting my parameters and rebooting....here begin the problems that all the others bios, beta or official (F3,F4C,F4,F5B), weren't never happen...the PC in phase of boot was stopped to the point which detect the drive (HD and various optical peripheral) and didn't go neither ahead neither in the bios.
....I have noticed a pair of things, the problem has been verified when i set in the bios "PC Health Status--->FAN Speed Control Method--->Intel(R) QST"...but it would not enjoy not even my ram.
....I tried various Reset CMOS, take off the PSU for unload completely the capacitors and remove the battery for a complete reset of the bios but the problem hold on....I tried to connect an intel boxed fan to the CPU_FAN connector of the board but nothing...I changed my ram Corsair with a 512MB PC5300 stick in single channel of OEM ram (normal chip V-Data) but nothing...I tried to change dimm slot and the problem has been resolved....then i take off boxed fan from connector and replace the 512MB OEM ram with my Corsair and it was all OK...This Beta bios said "Fix E6600/E6700 >400FSB"....I hoped resolved the small incompatibility between E6600 and chipset 965 which it seems to create as a wall beyond some doesn't know them, but for me in OC doesn't change nothing neither for boot from bios neither salting of FSB from win with EasyTune or SetFsb...

We are all well aware of how Gigabyte's BIOS numbering/lettering system works, ... however, .. I quoted an earlier poster who said that .. "F5d would become official", ... in other words ... become F5.
I countered directly by saying that I hope that F5d, .. doesn't become official .. i.e. 'F5' ...
Get it .. ?

Ha Ha
This is hilarious, .. you are criticizing my use of the English language .. :-)
"You dont said that" .. ?????? .... did you mean ?
'You didn't say that' ... huh?
Anyway, .. as the English language, .. it's use and it's spelling .. (oficial!! = official) .. seem to elude you, .. as well as the proper use of a Keyboard, .. specifically the CAPS LOCK and/or SHIFT keys, .. I will make allowances for your silly posts.
Anyway, .. you contradicted your own argument when you said .. "BTW: all the final bios are the same bios as the previous beta", .. meaning that 'F5d' is, .. in fact, .. 'F5', ... which is what I was saying anyway.
... not so?
Keep up those English lessons now ... Good Lad .. :-)
Cheerio

Both of you are being extremely childish... can you at least sort out your little feud via private messages? Attacking his use of language is not very nice either as he may be from a different country... perhaps?Originally Posted by Thomasew
