    Arrow project *Liquid Night* (worklog)

Finally, a new build. Its been almost 3 years since my last build.

This is gonna be a pretty good experience, I will be attempting a full mod on my computer for the very first time. I may be new to modding, but I still know the hardware.

Lian li v1000b mostly gutted out at the moment.

The hardware recently received from newegg.

Looks like I got a bit of luck from the egg.

Most of my water cooling is here, but i'm waiting for the xspc rx240 rad, and the HK 3.0 LT wb to arrive. It should be here later this week. Enjoy the pics for now, more details to come.

remember try not to push too much voltage on that D0 or you might hit runaway amp phenomina.

Meh, fugger explains it more in detail, and i think the D0's are more sensitive to it.

how much are we talking about pushing the voltage
i think the new D0 can easily get to 4ghz with no voltage increase but i might be wrong

From what i've seen, you can acheive 4ghz with little as a 8-10% overvolt stably. Which for me, i'm not really a hardcore benchmarker. I try to overclock reliably considering i'm an avid pc gamer. I guess we'll find out when this computer actually gets up and running. I'm assuming its going to be atleast a 1 month project, if not a little more.

Question: What size rivets does the lian li v1000 use. I'm gonna have to disassemble the entire case because i'm getting it powder coated. I'm guessing 3mm, but I don't know the length, just the diameter. Also what size drill bit do you use to remove the rivets? I have a a 2/32" drill bit, but not sure if that will work.

    Look what showed up... finally.

Alright now I can begin explaining the goal.

I dubbed this project "Liquid Night" because of two things. One its gonna be liquided cooled (duh), and two I'm blacking out the computer. The case will go through a number of mods:

-powder coat inside and out satin black
    -custom front mount radiator
-custom cut side panel with 3mm black acrylic window
-replace stock bezels with lian li vented bezels to help intake
-custom cut top blow hole for 120mm fan
    -replace stock fans with yates
-dynamic temp control via bp temp probe using the bigNG t-balancer
-replace stock casters with billet alluminum feet
    -(possibly) billet case handles
    -top fillport for easy filling
    -replace stock pwr switch

Theres probably a few things I left out, but you'll see for yourself. Enjoy!

Just a little teaser with some of the hardware installed. I did not intentionally try to match the color scheme, thats all out of coincedence. Looks great though.

nice project, but a tip, could you post the pics in a bigger size? 'cause it's not very handy to go to your photobucket everytime

I'm also having a V1000B II Plus awaiting his modification :P

Well I for one like the thumbnails or smaller pics.

Too many people think we need full HD pictures of. . . .barbs and other crap. >__> Do not care, maybe one of the final shot. Also don't save every god damn pic as .png a la Blue Aqua because that is lossless so you might as well have left it at the 10MP or whatever because it takes the same amount of time to load.

well HD pic's aren't good and handy in build logs but pic's with a resolution aroud 800*600 or a little bit bigger like 1024*786 or so would be ideal , HD pics may imho be available on request

    Just a little update.

I'm currently waiting till monday to continue this build. I'm actually trying to get the computer case machine cut for a cleaner finished. However the guy at the shop who does the side jobs won't be available till monday morning which is when I'm gonna call to see what he can do. I know I'm not the most popular guy on here, but if anyone cares thats where I stand currently. :P

    Another update:

The case was dropped off on thursday undergoing its mods. I'm not too sure when its going to be finished, but I will get a call when its done. Once thats done i'm bringing the case to the powder coaters. Then I have to bring the case back to the machine shop to get the brackets fabricated to mount the radiator and reservoir.

This is a little tedious, but I want to make sure this mod is done right. Stay tuned.

The rx240 is going to be standing vertically from the bottom chamber to the front bays. The section that seperates the two chambers is getting cut out. Thats why I have to make custom brackets. It should be a pretty nice internal water loop. I'm basically taking advantage of the v1000's vented front panel, and it looks more stealthy.

Very nice rig with well picked components ! That Mushkin Redline kit has amazing overclocking potential, I tested it. If you're interested you can find the review here.

Totally agreed on the thumbnails. I dont even bother clicking em as it takes alot longer to load the page that its on than just load all the pics here at say 1024/768 and be done with it. From what i could see from the thumbnails your ram should look sweet with that mobo.
