I simply prefer disabling in bios any unused items, such as the secondary Atheros ethernet port and the firewire controller.
Whenever a discrete graphics card gets installed, I would then disable the onboard Intel HD 4000 graphics.
Beta bios version F9o works fine, so something new was introduced starting with F9q and later.
