About one fact you are incorrect, I have proven my 4.5 stability in the 4.5 GHz thread, but with HT off only if that counts, since my temps were already over 80 C. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...=1#post4798854

And a side note, I really didn't mean to offend you, what would the point be in that? We all are here to help each other from what I understand. It isn't all about anyone's skills if we have better or worse processors at hand, it's pure luck. I wish you good luck with the 980X you have.

And now that we're talking, I just got my brand new R3E Black Edition since my R3E has been in RMA for a month now. So I might have to give 4.5 run HT on later on just for you if everything goes allright, and see if I can get that stability proven.
If you posted your result, and the first two replies were 'upgrade your cpu'... How would you take it? No 'good job' or anything like that. Just 'get a new cpu'. It's very insulting... Especially after already going through two 970's and two 980x's to find this good chip.

HT on is a completely different game. It increases your temps by ~10C, and makes you need a lot more voltage! It is much, much more difficult. I saw your HT off run... But I've been talking, very specifically about HT on. For 4.6GHz, my cpu needs .15v LESS with HT off. Literally HT on needs 1.525v BIOS, and HT off needs only 1.375v BIOS. This is almost exactly the same as your cpu!!!

R3BE isn't going to provide better overclocking, unfortunately. It uses the same power supply as the standard R3E. I think R3BE is designed to be as good as R3E in overclocking, but it also has the very nice features that R3E lacks(nice sound, Killer NIC, etc).
