Unfortunately a RAID controller in my case isn't an option, as I'm building a truly mATX build and the two video cards are covering all the slots.

When you say "partial success" what were the end results of the functionality after the flash? I saw that you had to de-solder the EPROM, but did you ever find the initial issue that caused that? Thanks!
