I think nvidia skimped heavily on the VRM with the GTX 570. The GTX 580 has 6 phases the GTX 570 has 4 phases for GPU both cards have 2 extra phases for the memory. 33% reduction in ouput from the phases on a card with 5-10% less TDP is skimping in my book. My card isn't dead though, I am thinking about doing some of those mods, at least the voltage read point and new BIOS.
Well for 150usd less then the 580- they have to skimp somewhere.
just like the ref 275 they were week in the knees,285's would go nice 275's would not take much voltage at all.
Just 1 look at the 570 should have giving you a warning.
I just cant see how this just started to happen and i dont see it wide spread.
(Come on the highly modded card is hurting you guys case)

Like i said i burnt phases on two 460 hawks both at 1.29v no other mods were those card built bad? not at all it was all me.
plz dont pass blame on the card being bad try to be a man, unless you took it out of the box and it blowed up all by itself...that happens too.
I'll be ringing my two 570 with just 1.21v and stock hs and COLD AIR i bet i dont burn a phase.....well i hope not.

+i just found over six my 6950 just die threads around the net(not to start with amd but for ref.)
