Not a big fan of acrylic. I'll do like the last one's and wait and see what happens first.

My swify v2 acrylic res has held up well. I've ran DI, Anti-Freeze/DI, Anti-Freeze/91% Alcohol and she is still holding up. No leaks or cracks as of yet

I shudder to think what your power bill is Cam

I am interested to see your data on the V2's as I just picked up a couple.

Power bill isn't as bad as you think... was a lot worse when I was crunching very heavily.

    Which V2's, D5 or DDC3.25?

I'm planing on buying the XSPC Acrylic Dual 5.25” Reservoir for one Laing D5 / MCP655

I have a adjustable MCP655 that I have had for about 14 months now, not one problem :yet:

I'm building a SB that will be at 5ghz How are these holding up?

Should I just buy a whole new pump knowing that my MPC655 has 14 months of use. not 24/7 at all, about anywhere from 3 to 5 hours weekdays and 5 to 8 weekends.

Are there better tops? I have a 3 x rad and a GTZ already

Both pumps from Laing that are used in this hobby are rated for minimum 50K hours, your pump is hardly even broken in.

I have the XSPC and its been working for me just fine since they came out. But, it was a stop gap replacement since my T3 had failed. Got a T4 almost a month ago and its been running just fine on a test bed since I got it until I took it down the other day. Both are fine options for budget dual bay's. But I've decided to go with a couple of the DD black and silver res's as they simply look much better. We dont have any test benches for all the res's so we cant compare them with any data. I didnt really notice any major changes with either my T4 or XSPC res, so I guess they are about on par with each other. I will say that the lighting options on the XSPC are pretty lame. One bright LED that doesnt really light up the tank, but instead looks like a bright pinpoint of light. The T4 at least has up to four places to light the res (but leaves you with a mess of wires to route). Also, the XSPC res doesnt give you access to the rehostat on the back of the pump if you have a vario model. You pretty much set it when you install it and thats it. Otherwise you have to take it out to get to it. Pretty lame that they didnt drill a hole for a screwdriver to reach it. Thats its biggest problem though as its a really solid unit. I would say that if you dont care about looks and maybe a wee bit of extrta performance, then get the XSPC. But the extra cash will net you a great looking and working DD res.

Like Waterlogged said, your pump has hardly been used. Dont worry one bit about using it in a rebuild. Just give it a real good cleaning and you should be fine for years to come with it. Good luck getting to 5GHz.
At Xtremesystems.org we don't help you save money on your cooling gear, instead we try to make you feel better about the insane ammount you've spent.

I've been using them for a couple/few months now and with the exception that one had a defect and failed the initial leak test, the other and it's replacement have been solid.

You can see them in this video: QuagsQube The Rundown and I show you how I dealt with the LEDs. Like Harlock says, the included 1 LED is lame and the lack of easy access to the speed control is the reason I just ordered a couple of the Koolance res (yeah, I know I don't need a couple).

I can pull my fan control and optical forward and get to the control with a modified flathead, but it's a pita and I want better access to it to find the sweet spot.

Thank you that was very helpful.

I'm not into lights and LEDs on my PC. I don't need it to look like a Xmas tree. It feels like a ricer honda civic (I use to own a 400whp D16y8 turbo civic) Not really into the led lights myself. I do have the adjustable pump and i leave it about 3 to 4 so it's not crazy loud but still pumps water.

I might just go with the DD if I can get a normal looking one? If you had a pick out what is out now whats the best. Money isn't really a huge issue, but I would like to pump my pump with a res in my case bay. That why all of these current models are appealing to me. I just have a crappy T line currently.

Honestly, no. XSPC, IMO, doesn't have a really good track record with acrylic products. Toss in the fact that these use a similar design to their DDC tops and that worries me even more. I'm just waiting for the complaints to come in that these are killing D5's just like their DDC res tops, and before anyone says it, I'm not trolling. . .just calling it the way I see it.

Other options for you may be the Koolance or EK res's. Those are currently available.

I can't speak for everyone, but I have 2 XSPC single DDC tops. Used with no problems. One single has been running constant for a long time (over a year) with an MCP350 on my file server.

For a D5 though or an integrated bay res, I'd wait for the Danger Den Monsoon based on material alone. The fact that it's super sexy and modular puts it over the top. I don't think I'll ever touch acrylic again in this form. Even if you don't like lights, the material+form factor alone makes this thing.

This, of course, is just my opinion (worth what you paid for it).
