two new D5 top/res from XSPC

Hi, I just found this and wanted to share it with you all:
    - XSPC Acrylic Dual 5.25 bay Reservoir for Laing D5:
    http://www.highflow.nl/pompen/laing-...-d5bayres.html

    - XSPC Acrylic Tank Reservoir for Laing D5:
    http://www.highflow.nl/pompen/laing-...d5tankres.html

Now there is an alternative to Primochill D5 bay/res .
I can't find it on XSPC's official website or there online shop !

Agreed, I thought people have been reading these forums about acrylic problems since the T3 and would stay away from now.

Let's just hope they learned from Primochill's mistakes .

Not entirely related. T3 had problems with the molding process, specifically the additives put into the acrylic "soup" or something before molding. In most of their products XSPC doesn't really use molds, most of there stuff like these res' are put together with glue and off-the-shelf (i.e. balanced chemical composition) acrylic sheets.

XSPC's problem with acrylic is that their machining and assembly tolerances are not so good. That's how you end up with ports that leak because the hole is not perpendicular, etc.

if anyone from XSPC reads this, please, for the love of god, stop putting the acrylic tube inside leading directly into the pumps inlet! it makes the bleeding process 50 times harder than it has to be!

The problem is, that stupid tube is what give their their DDC tops the extra head pressure. Take that away and their res top becomes an average top. I'm betting it will also give the D5 a small boost as well.

The bottom is open below the D5 so you still get some airflow around it.

You cannot bond Delrin (Polyoxymethylene) easily, like acrylic. So i assume bonding Delrin is a complex and lengthy process.

Waterlogged may know a bit more on the subject.

Well, I wasn't sure about bonding so I did a quick check and it turns out you can do it apparently somewhat easily with a 2 part epoxy called "BONDiT™ B-46". It can also be butt welded or ultrasonically welded.

XSPC are usually very good and recalling bad batches - however - the 1s that always slip out seem to end up in the US where distributers are slow to take the faulty stock off the stock lists and hand it out anyway but never make the recall from the customer. Shame really... Because he's quick to find out when there's a problem and he does his best to make sure they don't go out, tbf, it's still a miles better rep than Primochill and the products, when you're not unlucky enough to get duff finish or seal, are usually of very good quality

Actually, Alexandr0s is right. I have DDC single and dual tops with dual D5's sprinkled in, radiator sandwich testing half complete, a new radiator test procedure in the works and GXT480 blocks all going on... and I have review writing for a couple more air coolers and 2 water kits going every night. And there is more, but it stays behind closed doors for a while. If it weren't for having this day job to keep the lights on I could get things done much faster, but the day job always takes priority.
