Still it's a good card but I think the GTX570 and GTX580 came out of nowhere and just makes this card look like rubbish!
Must also consider that the 6990 is just around the corner and whilst I don't doubt it'll be clocked lower than the 6970 I'm sure performance will be where we expect it to. Wonder why the card was delayed for soo long, any bets on TSMC messing things up again?
And no chance of getting these cards before Christmas now :o, real **** up at AMD!!
For the 2900 ok .. but X1900XTX and X1950XTX ? where those cards was under performer against the Nvidia one ? sorry i have maybe some memory problem ( it's not like it was yesterday after all ) ...

for 6970. hum i wait too see crossfire test allready vs 580 ( have see only 2 but no direct comparaison with 580 - 570SLI ) and Overclocker results . ( the anandtech let see some good thing allready, without proper cap profile )

For driver thing, when i don't hope for miracle, there's anyway some strange information of disfunctionnement, when the card make a good job in some games, it take the dive in some other, games with similar engine ( can be due to a bad choice, or just cause the card have not enough SP for make the difference with previous generation ).
