he said amd did a low price release like they did with the 5870, will be a great deal then

I was looking at the same thing, might be another 5850/5870 fiasco where clock for clock there was only a 3% difference... though I hope not.

well then pick up 6950's instead .. and clock em higher by 3% and you saved some money on the purchase to use towards a water block

5870/5850 fiasco ? There was never such a thing...

The reason the difference is small in tessellation heavy heaven is simple both cards use the same 2 tessellation units the only difference is 80 mhz additional clock, actual games are likely to see a much higher difference.

On the reference 5850's you can clock it to anything a 5870 was and nearly match it no matter if it was a game using tessellation or not. I didn't know the 6900's use the same tessellation units so could be why the scores are so close so you're probably right, but can't wait till these other reviews come out so we can see.

Wow... i can only see whole 6000 series getting better and better by the hour imagine the price drop on 6870/50 if those FUDz are right...

This might even make me buy new card(s) before 28nm, and im a cheap person

hmmm so far the OCUK numbers have been the most reliable by far and they point to really what was inevitable performance wise. just a little slower then the GTX 580 for the 6970, however what is surprising is the 6950 performance, looks to be mem bandwidth to me considering when he clocks up the RAM on the 6970 it seems to take off way more then the 6950 when overclocked. despite the gain on the core being about the same. also what is surprising is the prices or the rumored prices so far.

If AMD can price the 6950 at 300 CAD and the 6970 at 350-400 CAD then it will be a real winner and would force the GTX 570 and GTX 580 prices down for sure. meaning that no matter what color your glasses are you win. in fact that is what i am most excited for. i can't wait to see what these end up costing and how Nvidia responds... and and how cheap used GTX 480's or 5870's start going for

ahhh we can't get the true reviews soon enough!!!

Our articles will be up exactly when the NDA lifts. We will start with the launch article and multi-card article, and hard-overclocking study will come a few days later

Hahaha, somebody got the timezones wrong.....5AM GMT is 6AM CET or 7AM my local hour. So if you live in Germany, you'll have to make yourself a nice cup of coffe at 6AM. This is NDA wise, of course, who knows what hours will they publish in China or so on

fuad is just too stupid to convert GBP into EURO
expect prices between 300€ and 350€ for 6970

i think that it's extremely funny how overhype (1920SPs) turns into doomsday-feelings and now it's slowly turning back to overhype, the amount of posts by nvidia fans reached their all-time highs during the doomsday part and now ATI fans with way too high expectations in pricing are gaining strength
