Really? I was at Microcenter yesterday and they had a bunch of 6870's in stock. After talking with a couple of the employees who I know, they told me that the sales of 6870's has slowed to a crawl since they received a pallet of EVGA GTX 580's the other day. All of which are completely sold out.

I wonder how many cards can fit on a freight pallet. Standard size is 48"x40" with a maximum weight of about 1,600lbs (hehe... ya... stacked 20' high).

My guess is about 200 cards since I recall the max allowable height is about 5'.

I used to do a ton of freight shipping when I managed Oettinger Performance GmbH @ CEC Wheels here in North America.

Btw.... I find it odd that the HD6870 is priced on average $100 lower than the older HD5870. @ Fry's you can get the 6870 for $259-$299 while the 5870 runs $339-$399.

King of the hill at this moment so the stores are just doing what they're doing with the Radeons.
Don't you remember they did the same thing with the HD5970?
You mean how the HD5970 is still $700+? Ouch....
