I agree, I need to play a bit with the metrics to try to fully understand and possibly limit the IO to specific files. e.g. an iometer test file.

I'm not comfortable yet with the metrics, I need to know what is actual IO, meaning DRn vs DASD vs VMM

The only way of getting the same workload would be using benchmarks like iometer, all other approaches would lead to non comparable data.
(we all have different setups, drivers, background tasks, ...)

I think we need to play a bit to get to know what to look for, QD, access times are metrics that are of general interest imho.

I'll try comparing last nights session as to get results without using the pagefile.
