NVIDIA to Counter Radeon HD 6970 ''Cayman'' with GeForce GTX 580

If nvidia is planning to counter "cayman" with the 580, i am pretty sure that it wouldn't be kept as a secret (we were hearing about the 480 aages before its release). Having a price drop on the day of release (like it just happened) makes sense, launching the 580 as a surprise on the day of "cayman" release seems very unrealistic. If they think it can beat the 69xx series (excluding antilles), wouldnt it make sense (also from a marketing/sales perspective) for them to brag about it as the release date nears? Maybe the cards are ready and they will announce a release date close to that of the ATi cards sometime soon
