Looks promising. I think AMD is doing 6000-series right. They are making the most efficient architecture even more efficient. Throwing out shaders they don't use and adding performance at the weak spots.

If those speculations are true then I think 6870 won't be to far from 5870 performance wise. And somehow I think 6870 will overclock better.
