BTW, what size did you end up with on the case when adding the dual cpu mobo?

I ended up with 300mm W x 648mm H x 615 D (11.8"W x 25.5" H x 24.21" D) So far I have redesigned the case about 16 times since last October....man it was hard to get all the screw holes correct and to get everything to fit and where to mount stuff.

Im building the first one for a co-worker and he has two 360 Fessers (bottom compartment) so the need for 300mm wide was needed. I would need to go taller to fit a rad up top (top/bottom different sizes), about 7 mm, which I should have done (back to the drawing board to make them even)

Going this wide 300mm you should be able to fit dual rads up top and dual on the bottom....4 loops would be nice with the dual socket. Of course im using acrylic which is thicker material...

What did you find were the spec's for the dual socket mobo?

Here's a pic with it 60% done. (acrylic and aluminum angle)

    Wow! thats looking really good!

@Mick64 I apologize if this has been asked or mentioned before, but I ran into this problem recently and I noticed it here: The areas for the rads appear to be tight for 12omm fans, is or was there consideration made for rads larger than 120mm? I think my BI Gtx's are 135mm and it caused me some issues in my case(dremel ftw!).

    Hi mick,

I love the case your building and I might have to buy it! My only concern is for power issues with the sr-2. I noticed you had a 200mm depth for the power supply. The best 1500 watt that I could find was 220mm in depth. The best that would fit would be the antec 1200. Only it would not be enough power for 3 high vid cards with 2 gulftowns not even overclocked. So I was thinking is it possible to make the upper loop 3 fans wide with another power supply up there. Without an extra power supply you wouldnt get high temps anyways so would'nt 4 fans wide not be necessay for that loop. Just some thoughts I figured I would send your way. I would hate to have to go with one of those bay power supply boosters or extend the power supply out of the case a few inches. Granted you wouldnt be able to set any world records due to heat restrictions but this would give the flexability of being able to really use all the features of the board.

Any news on this absolutely stunning case? It would be a dream come true if we could buy it even if it's not cheap - but one does not have to upgrade the case any more

Good point. I suspect many will want to use a 1500W PSU with this case.

Speaking about different PSU options IIRC there was one made by koolance 1700W watercooled PSU aswell. Not long time ago somewhere here (don't recall though in which thread) i seen even url to a bit differently planned 2000W PSU (as in not overly long, but double height).

    Koolance PSU-1300ATX-12N: (1300/1700w)

    http://www.koolance.com/product_arch...product_id=665

Apparently no longer available, but it would have been a really nice PSU to use in a water cooling build, especially the pre-1.5 revision, which had a side window.

    Hey buddy,

I wonder how you got on with working out costs for this case? It is an interesting project and a very nice design. After I finish my Lian Li I am looking to offer computer cases. Having a look at the designs I can say that unless you mass produce that case its going to be damn expensive. If your making them to sell your going to have to make 100% on the cost to you to make it worth while and you are going to have to get at least a dozen made to make it cheap. I can estimate that the material costs alone for the lasered parts would surpass £100 ea case in quantities of 5 or so.

Take a look at how expensive mountain mods cases are and also note that they are incredibly simplistic.

Let me know you get on as I'm genuinely interested.

hello, first of all I want to say I am pretty new on this forum. I have been following your treath for a while now and I took the liberty to make some solidworks drawings for it. if you are intrested feel free to pm me. I am working on the MB tray atm but I dont have sizes of the SR2 so thats kinda hard.

I must say it looks more like the plexiglass case of Gone Cruising.

Yeah, they are pretty much the same design. It's hard to not go with this type of design when dealing with a full tower as almost all components will go into the case in the same areas. My acrylic case is going through a re-design and have stopped working on the current one until the new design is finished. I got rid of the aluminum frame and went with an acrylic one and will be making two versions. one for ATX and EATX and one for the 4 way and SR2 mobo's.

They did grow in height as well 30" tall and 32" tall. Bothe are still 12" wide and 24" deep.

Just to let you know, progress is being made. As I said in previous posts, there is a company working on my case design, but they were busy with other projects. They are now concentrating on my design, but it is a lengthy process.

I am expecting to see some 'solid' results in the next couple of weeks and as soon as I have something to show you I will post them here.

I know things have been quiet of late but I have had a lot of things to deal with in my home and work life which has left me no free time to indulge in my hobbies.....

This is by far the nicest case I have ever seen!

I hope that Silverstone have bought the rights to produce this, and aim to preview it at Computex in June!

Simply stunning work, so stunning that I refuse to buy another case until this is relased.

I wanted to mention again that your patience and wisdom in this project has been amazing. True, your sparkling eye for design has contributed greatly to the success and brilliance of your chassis—but making changes based on the input of potential (and educated) users is what makes this chassis, dare I say, epic.

Now I have my two cents to throw in. If you are indeed having your chassis manufactured (good for you—and us) then perhaps I can suggest that you offer a bare metal version. I’m not sure if you decided against steel, but I am sure than many of your potential customers, including me, all have different thoughts on color schemes.

If it’s aluminum, I would like to splash anodize it myself, and if its steel—well, then hundreds of power coat combinations await…

I’m sure there are a few people willing to pay the price (let’s be realistic, I have had custom cases built by Lian Li before—it’s going to be expensive) who would leave the chassis untouched, but I am willing to bet that those coughing up the serious cash for this amazing chassis are going to want to personalize it with a different paintjob (or metal surfacing) anyways…

Just something to think about that could lower the price of production and play to your market a lil’

Thank you again for your amazing work. Good luck, and I hope you turn a tidy profit. You deserve it—you listened to your target market.

NFC: one unpainted (read: cheaper) case might be good idea, but imho base model should be pre-powder-coated in some popular color (probably black), as another characteristic of this case is - finally one which you don't need to mod at all to fit lot of LC components in it. So part of buyers might be just that - ones not wanting to mod/paint/do something extra.

Thanks for your kind words NFC!

I think we will be going with aluminium, but steel may be an option. As for finish, I think this will probably be something you can stipulate when ordering. I can't promise anything, as I am not the manufacturer, but if it's bare metal you want, painted or powder coated, I'm sure some arrangement can be made....
