I have done the following - re-seat memory many times, CPU twice, tried with 3 dimms (only 4gb shows up), tweak the voltage settings in the bios in so many combinations that it's too much to type, even got hold of the 0704 beta bios the other day.

I have a 1000W CM PSU, i7 980x, KVR1333D3N9K3/6 x2, Asus Nvidia 9600GT, 3ware controller card with 9T raid 5. I really need this extra ram as I do video editing.

CPU-Z and DL Memtest86 sees the ram by the way, but bios and windows 7 x64 does not! Asus has been no help and Kingston is telling me it's the mb.

I really need some help here, been banging my head against the wall for the last 2 weeks. Not to mention my case weighs over 100 pounds and tired of moving it out...
Welcome to XS westokyo. Has this 12 gigs ever showed up in bios and Windows before? Or has it always been gone since you put the system together? Sounds to me like the CPU did not seat both times, only trying twice isn't enough imo. I would look at the pins under a magnifying glass to see if there are any bent pins (if thats even possible). Almost everyone here has solved the missing memory problems by re-seating the cpu. If not, I think its time you RMA because you could have a cpu socket or memory socket problem. One last thing to try would be to fire her up with only one stick in slot 1, then do the same for slot 2, and then slot 3 and so on. If the comp does not fire up one of those times then you have a bad connection somewhere, either the cpu socket or memory slot. If you do find a slot not working, you could then try another stick in that same non working slot just to see if its the stick you just tried. I have a feeling you probably tried this though. Let us know please...
