Hi everyone.
I've just got a brand new EP45-UD3LR (DDR2) rev 1.0
My system:
- Gigabyte EP45-UD3LR (DDR2) rev 1.0
- Q9550 C1
- Sapphire5850
- WD Velociraptor
- 3x 1 TB raid0 WD
- Corsair 750TX
- OCZ Reaper 9200 (1200mhz 5-5-5-15) 4 x 1 GB
Last bios F10
I am facing huge issues with this.
My VID is very high to get only 425fsb
I am using 400 strap / 2D - 1:1 ratio
5-5-5-15 (to make sure its not mem issue)
CPU 1.425
CPUref 0,864
PLL 1,65
TERM 1,3
RAM 2,3
MCH 1,5
MCHref 0,88
SB 1,55 and 1,2
I cant GET 8,5x447 prime95core 1 or core 4 fail
However it works at 7x447!!!!
Another question:
do you have an electricity noise from the mosfets zone when running prime? Reminds me my old P965 commando.....
Thanks for the help![]()
sorry didnt mean to rub it in,just saying sometimes dead boards arent dead boards at all.
the USB3P is definitely a good route to go,that way you can take care of upgrading to DDR3 now,
if you havent already
very nice warm up session while you wait.awesome awesome chip you have![]()

I got some new, well old ddr2 coming from a friend that is killer, I will be posting some results with my x3380 and ud3p over the next few days.
ran a fast test the other day and was able to get it to 5.107Ghz @ -40c
i jsut wish there was more time in the day, so much to zap , so little bench time...
but sending the son to Fla next week for 2 weeks to visit his cuzins, so that will free up some real bencing time.
i would just love to find a ddr3 gig board, is anyone using a GIGABYTE GA-EP45T-USB3P and is it a good overclocker...
I would love to find a EP45T-Extreme for sale -reasonable
i got some serious Dominator Gt's that i would love to try with the chip...

very nice In-Fluence ... keep on going!
keep punishing them... it's amaizing what are u doing with quads on these gigabyte boards andressergio
Also with this post I wanna let u know that I just qualified to GOOC2010 roumanian final in Bucharest so sunday I will be having my first LN2 session live in this event. I'm gonna really nead some advices from u guys in the Gigabyte X58 thread (from the ones of you that allready played with skt1366).
Test platform will be as it follows :
• Motherboard GIGABYTE: GA-X58A-UD3R
• Video Card GIGABYTE: GV- R567OC-1GI
• CPU: Intel Core i7 – 980XExtreme Edition
• Cooling - Cooler Master Hyper 212+
• RAM: Kingston DDR3
• Sursă: Enermax
• HDD:
• Monitor:
• : keyboard and mouse GIGABYTE
• OS Microsoft Windows
In short: what should I expect from X58A-UD3R clocking with 980x Extreme Edition? (as a side note: we aren't allowed to do hardware mods to components)
What temperature usually ColdBug and ColdBoot interfere? And what are max voltages I should use (and wich one are more important and some starting ones). I'll be on a Koolance REV 2 LN2 pot (not the best for LN2 but is the best I have).
I know there are o lot of questions quys ... but I allways have been well answered and threated here on xs, and that's why I really love this forum. So bare with me. I know u'll give me a hand, u allways do
Cheers,
kagula

No need to vmod the UD3P as it has load line calibration, whereas the extreme didn't. Sig definitely need to be updated once I get this board how I want it.
Thanks for all the comments peeps, I'm working on 530x8.5 but getting the CPU stable is tricky. I'm just glad the temps have sorted themselves out, and are still improving - getting 35,35,35,35 after a while of idlig now, so better than before eventually!
Rebound: Try adjusting your CPU and MCH ref's up or down a notch or two. MCH in particular is crucial to stability. Those OCZ reapers - do they need 2.3v? Although mine reached 1296MHz, they didn't like much above 2.2v at all.Good luck!
Andre' - nice going as always - you gonna push for some benches soon I hope?![]()

I will try to play with CPU and MCH ref values
I will also decrease the Vmem to 2.1
It also seems Dirt 2 (something i also use to check stability), works at default ( 0% overclock) but at 400FSB, even with prime95 stable for 5 hours, DIRT 2 will crash after 30sec![]()
Rebound, maybe try to adjust your PCIE clock up or down one, SB voltage may play a part too. What kind of error / crash do you get? BSOD or just a complete freeze?
Kagula - those X58A boards aren't bad at all are they? I'm finding my way up the bclks at a low 15x multi whilst I do the criminal thing and run it on stock cooling - currently at 220x15 (218x17 was stable but vcore was needed to go further - not good on stock coolig) - how have you fared so far?

I am starting to wonder is this is related with stress on the MCH related to the:
4x1GB instead of 2x2GB mem.
I saw other user post that cannot post more than 460fsb with 4 DIMMS, but with 2DIMS can do 500fsb :|
He says that even with very high MCH 1.5 it boots but is crash PRIME95.
I will remove 2 dims

No worries radaja
I have seen a few boards on ebay, but the socket pins were messed up. I could get either the UD3P or the T board, as I have some DDR2/3 ready to use, but within the UK they are impossible to find now! I have posted a WTB thread, but no luck yet! I will keep searching, I need to move away from my 790i, as I have a HD5780, and may go crossfire in the future.....
Cheers!![]()

Well,
I really need some advice here :|
I have been on the overclocking world since my Pentium MMX 133 :p or my ADM Duron 600 :P with pencil mod.
But this i dont understand!
I have been reading all the replys on this thread and i now i have found that:
- putting AUTO on VTT, cpu ref, and AUTO on MCH core and mchref will POST and PRIME stable !!!
I check this values...
I go the BIOS and i put the same value it was on AUTO (that it was working)
Its not stable!
I saw this between pages 50 and 70 with another user.
:/
UPDATE: (see my previous post - its above this one)
460FSB * 8 with those settings on AUTO was PRIME stable for 4 hours.
But
460FSB x 8,5 will not POST!
I am using 1,43vcore

did you saw my posts?
Whats the trick with the auto on the vtt, cpu reg and mch ref and mch volt?
:| it works at 460fsb *8
but it will not work at 460fsb * 8,5
using 1,435v on cpu

Hi Sergio
Gracias amigo. Listo.
Ahorita mesmo voy tentar cambiar para 2.35 en DRAM v
Hey,
can i add you on msn or gmail?Could you pop me up a pm
Currently i am stable with:
467x8
333 strap
2,4b
mem speed = 1121
5-6-6-18
tr=9
CR=2
BIOS:
cpu v = 1,431
cpu term = auto (ET6 = 1,5)
cpu ref = auto (ET6 = 0,805)
mch core = auto (ET6 =1,3)
mch ref = auto (ET6 =0,76)
ich = 1,57
ich core = 1,2
RAM= 2,16
This is rock stable!
But why do i put the same ET6 values on BIOS and i wont post? :|
Also,
Do you use 333 strap or 400 for this fsb?
