I picked up a Patriot Viper II DDR3-2000 C8 kit from Frys locally, however those have the original J1108BASE MNH-E Hyper chips. I don't know if ALL the first Hyper chips die or just certain batches...
If they die just RMA them...they probably won't anyway.
