You have an option in BIOS to enable IDE controller, I'm 100% sure...

Anyone have an idea why increasing IOH / ICH voltages make my board unbootable ?? Only at 1.11 - 1.12 i can boot to Win being at 210x21...

    PS.

HARDWARE PREFETCHER - enabled or disabled ?
Adjacent Cache line Prefetch - enabled or disabled ?

That is what I thought but for the life of me I could not find it. I will look again today after my brain has gotten cleared from staring at a blue screen with white writing.

Anyone using the new 1903 BIOS - can you tell me what the minimum voltage you can set for PLL is?

1903 probably sucks as much wang as any other BIOS in terms of overclocking. Asus ignore my requests for this board in terms of BIOS options etc, implement them in new boards I don't want to buy, and release new BIOS with "support new CPU" as change log. Short answer if you don't have problems with your current BIOS don't bother upgrading.

Not sure if this has been asked in the 100's of previous pages, which I have tried scanning through, but here goes.

Has anyone used aftermarket cooling for their NB and SB, something like a Thermalright cooler. If so could you please post a pick?

    Thanks

When I had my i7 920 D0, bios 1504 was very stable. But now that I have a Retail i7 980X cpu Batch#3003B475 i'm using bios 1903 on my R2E. I've had this motherboard for over a year now and its time to watercool it. I believe it deserves it. Thanks Firewire for the bios.

Thanks guys for the all the replies..think i just stick with 1704 then, unless i'm moving to 980x [dreaming] . Nice Rig you got there psygnosi...you're using H50 or other watercooling kit? I can see H50 there, I use the same cooler but I cant get past 4.4GHz with my i7 930 chip due to heat problem...how about your temp using H50?

    Hi pcgamers,

The corsair H50 will be replaced by this Swiftech Apogee XT Extreme waterblock:

    Mosfets and NB/SB blocks:

close up of the 5970 Black Freezer GPU Block:

Temp on the H50 is Okay but it does not compare to a dedicated CPU block like the swiftech. I get 35 on idle and 70+ on load for the Corsair H50. I need the load to get lower. Hopefully the swiftech will take me there.

    Hi,

sorry i'm such a noob in this kind of things, can we really get better OC on CPU by increasing PCI-E freq? I thought increasing PCI-e freq will eventually damages our GPU(s), am i correct? If it can be done, how much actually safe freq we can up over a stock of 100?

Sorry for so many questions...any old timer please help and I appreciate your help.
