Seeing as there is a little discussion going on about Magicool rads here, I wouldn't want this to go unnoticed:

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=250927

Bundy wrote a great review about 480 rads (thanks Bundy! ) and it seems for its price, the Magicool rad actually does pretty good! Deltas between the EK Coolstream and the MCR, and a very high flow rate it appears! Bundy, you might have just convinced me to get one .

flowrate/restriction of most rads is non-important, as it's way less then flow restriction of most waterblocks (unless rad is MoRa2Pro )

Well, I've already made my feelings clear a while back about testers I trust. It's nothing personal but, it does have everything to do with proper testing protocols (limit variables as much as possible).

I'm all with you on proper testing WL, however, after seeing some of his tests, I feel that the results he delivers are similar to the results found by the testers you name, mainly Skinnee and Vapor, which makes me feel that I can trust his other results too.

There is one thing I like to note about your reviews Bundy, and that is that you'd be surprised to see the amount of people here that are interested in technical details. Stating testing method, showing test setup, stating fpi, stuff like that always works wonders. Of course, using pretty graphs work even better ^_^. That way, people can actually verify that the method you used to test your items is scientifically sound, allowing you to convince people such as Waterlogged that you're in fact a great tester .

I'd really like to but for his CPU block testing he included a MIPS NB block in the CPU loop. If you test a CPU block, that should be the only block in the loop. Yes, it's possible that the NB most likely didn't skew the results, but it's still an unnecessary variable that needs to be accounted for. I also realize that if he takes the NB block out, he'll likely catch flak from Hardwareluxx forum members, so yeah, rock. . .met hard place, that's where he find himself.

Thought I’d throw in a few pix that are the antithesis of this thread…..quality pictures (need to build a light box and learn digital photography) and nice, shiny, new stuff……

not sure what happened as the screws on the bottom were loose (like me ), but BFG is kind enough to let me RMA it even though the paperwork is long gone.

WOW! Are those really the screws they used? I would think that they at least would build it professionally with countersinking flat allen or torque head screws, or just use a much higher quality machine screw other then something you can go into Lowes or Homedepot and get 200 of for like $3 bucks.

I thought DD had learned not to use Plexi covers back on the 8800 blocks.

Actually the year or so that I was using the AquaComputer block on my G92 GTS has never been a problem & yes they used different type of bolts. If you look closely I don't see any cracks on the 280 either!

My homemade waterblock, serving me well since november 2007. I added 2 black painted hypodermic needle caps to inprove its aesthetics.

It's not a variable if it's a constant in the tests

Not really, because the temps on a NB are not completely constant. Though being very minor, it's still a variable.
