Should be better than the UD3LR in terms of o/cing as I believe it is based on the UD3P. For benching, those extra memory speeds can give you the edge too. Good luck with it!

Hi guys iam having a bunch of problemīs lately putting this setup stable, suddenly this system became unstable and i already tried f4 , f5 ,f7 and f10 bios and nothing .
The program i use is the latest LINX because i think its the fastest to encounter error's.
Some times i get error in 29 test , sometimes in the 175.
The memory passes 4 loops of memtest96.
Already tryng uping the cpu volts, nb voltage to insane values (1.52) running 1000 cas 4 1:1, tried cpu termination voltage @ 1.28 and mch ref @ 0.720 and nothing.
I began to wonder if the system was stable when it crashed and rebooted for no reason this happens maybe 1 time per day, and the game i play battlefield bad company 2 crashes more often than usual.

I know the voltage on the cpu seems low but its a really nice cpu , here are some pics of the day i got this baby (a year ago):
I have been running these settings for a year with no probs.
http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/4508/oc247nn0.jpg
I have an LC power TITAN 560w with full load the 12v drops to 11.85
the 5v line "drops" to 5.0 and the 3.3 "drops" to 3.3
In advance i apologize for my bad english , iam portuguese so easy on me for that
I really apreciate any help you can give me , hope some one figures this one out, cause i canīt.
Thanks .

Ok I have my new ep45t-usb3p o/ced to 4.0 and pretty well useing the same voltages etc. from old ep45t-ud3lr board, I will have to see if i can crank down some of the voltages to get them lower that what i needed before, only thing in bios there is some new things i duidnt have on old board like channel A and B dat vref and channel A+B address vref, the bios setting is .75 on all and i have them all set to normal, is the correct or should i set them to .75 or some other number, overall impression of the board is I realy like it, My system is running abit cooler as well, maybe cause of the better heatsinks?

My DX38BT never got my RAM very high for any time, so I switched it out & got the USB3P. I'm running this G.Skill, and trying to get to 1600 on the RAM, and around 4GHz on my Q9550.
Any tips or templates?
Thanks,

Is that done with the USB3? On my UD3P the only bios that would allow me to drop down to PL7 on 3.20B and cas 6 was F1 and that was hit or miss. Sometimes it would drop down fine and would prime other times not even able to be set, bandwidth was alot better though but not stable enough to use.

thanx ive always wondered about the secondary timmings Iam still fairly new to o/cing with this board, but so far I love it, alot more stable than the uld3r was I will recheck my ram timmings on next boot as well rais up my fsb more as this board is running cooler as well

Yes, it's the USB3P; incidentally, the bios is also F1. I find that TRCD is the most important setting for stability. Mine won't even post with a TRCD of 6 @ 1600 no matter the TRD setting (1600 CAS 8 Ripjaws here); 6-6-6 is a no go, 6-7-6 is good, but 6-8-6 or even 6-8-7 is better. So generally, TRCD should be equal or 1 unit higher than TRD or two units higher than CAS in some instances if you want to wring every bit of performance from your kits. This is true for the ECOs too.
No problem. For even better stability, you can set TRFC to 88. It doesn't hurt performance.
here is an everest shot of my ram setup now , is it any good?
woops this is with old board i will re run it with this new usb3p board

drop your multi to x8 and raise fsb to 500 and you'll be seeing something close to this without raising your vcore:
Edit: Added more screenshots:

and
7-9-7-24 (5-6-10-88-6-1) TRD 7
I will be doing some more overclocking and testing later...

you think that is the way for me to go to drop cpu multi to 8 and raise fsb.. then if i raise it to 500 that will give me 1600mhz on my ram and thats what i was hopeing for, Am i loseing any performance by dropping the multi to 8? so now i have my timmi9ngs at 7,8,7,24 and sec timmings i set to 5-6-10-88-6-1 like you suggested can I leave those alone and just change the multi to 8? or do i have to loosen the timmings up? , my ultimate o/c i want is 4.0 with 1600 mhz on ram, thats what iam shooting for, let me know what ya think thanx for your help. I realy love these boards I think the problem with the udl3r was it only had a 4 pin cpu power supply and these have the 8 pin wich i think is better than 4 pin ...any truth to that? here is a shot of my ram![]()

Definitely, plus more phases = smoother power delivery to the cpu = better overclocks and less instability.
Yes, leave the memory alone. If your chip/cooling can handle it, you can go for 4.5 (at least for some benches). 9x500 = 4.5GHZ; 8.5x500 = 4.25GHZ (what I'm running); 8x500 = 4GHZ (what your aiming for, and the least difficult to accomplish). I already gave you some tips.
General key thinhs for the best results:
1. Load Bios Optimized Defaults, save and reboot.
2. In the MIT, under advanced cpu results, set skews to
900
900
0
50ps (mch skews). I find that cpu = 100 and mch = 150 works well too. Just make sure mch is always 50ps better than cpu.
Under voltages:
While VTT is set to default 1.200v:
Set cpu vtt vref to .760 and mch vref to 800. The rest is easy, once you get these voltages down. Goodluck.
I dont want to says its a problem but thats just something these newer kits have to deal with, high trcd. Mine are hypers and dont need/care for high trcd to be stable regardless of PL, there stock rating is 7-7-7 at 1866. Benching wise for SPI 32m I still run them at 6-6-4 so far up to 1740.

hey guys if i change my strap to 4.00b that will set my ram freq to 1784 or close to it. is that way overkill for my g.skills? they are rated at 1600,, when i asked on the g.skill site the guy said they should be able to do it but i will need to loosen up the timming to 8-8-8-22. will there be any benifit to this? or still best option for me is to change multi to 8 and raise fsb wich will in turn get me to my 1600, and will this be good enough for 24/7 use? my temps are actually very good

I have been thinking about a northbridge cooling solution, and what's involved in removing the blue top that covers it (the northbridge).
I'm told that it's just attached with double-sided tape, so the question is, would I void the warranty if I removed it?
Has anyone else removed it, and were the results good or bad?
Also, my Scythe Kaze Master Fan Controller has 4-temperature sensor/probes that I never used, could one of them be used with the northbridge, and if so, how should it be applied?
Any thoughts on this, positive or negative are welcome.
My UD3P is r1.6
