We'll see if Nvidia is actually justifying their price with performance, or if this is just Nvidia applying the Nvidia tax... ("our $129 card has PhysX so its automatically faster" mentality)
Starting to feel some depression setting in. If I'm already spending $500 each x 2 for SLI then the extra $50 isn't a big deal to me but......IF it really is approx 10% better compared to a card that can be bought right now (5870) for $420? Plus I'm on a 790i board so crossfire is out and I'm not ready to move to a new board/cpu just yet as dual core 4ghz isn't limiting my gaming performance.

These days with the economy money is tighter than usual I can't really afford to auction off these cards and upgrade in 3-6 months I really want to have an SLI setup for 2560x that'll be good to go for 12-18 months. Hopefully there's some magic happening Friday night but it seems less likely as the day/hour approaches. Sure I could "wait and see" but I'm already playing BFBC2 at medium with DX9 forced to get min 40s and avg 50-60 it is a DX11 title with soft shadows I'd like to play it highest quality DX11...

Found this seems a lot of board partners are trying to boost performance, will it be good enough?

Nvidia's Fermi GTX480 is broken and unfixable,Hot, slow, late and unmanufacturable
As we have been saying since last May, Fermi GF100 is the wrong chip, made the wrong way, for the wrong reasons.

Well.... damn that's a LOT of gamers not only that will be there but that will read about it, blog about it, call others (you get my point). For them to release like this on a product that is not worthy would be pretty damn foolish wouldn't it? I guess not too much more foolish than a CEO with a fake card or wood screws... If you think about it though the previously mentioned foolish things would only be magnified by a lackluster performing card that's shown to hundreds / thousands of people live and they are drawing a ton of attention to themselves.

I wanna see their surround vision working on one of these. It'd be nice to see how it stacks up against Eyefinity.

MSRP of $549 unless I get it wrong. Street prices will be higher, obviously.

Come on man, someone already linked to a website with PNY's GTX 480 list was $549 and selling for $513. Same with GTX 470 list was $399 and was selling for around $360 or so.... Like every single release there will be fluctuations depending on bundle and final specs from each board partner.

Fixed, sorry that was my nub posting skills...

A lot of items don't sell for MSRP, let me give you an example.

I bought the Denon AVP and POA (preamp and amp) separates first time Denon has had reference quality separates for home theater in 10+ yrs, they were both MSRP 7,500.00 and they were highly sought after almost sold out before they arrived from Japan. I managed to still get 30% off MSRP each. I rarely pay MSRP for anything unless getting a deal is impossible. Apparently there is room for pricing on this release.

Nobody is allowed to sell GTX480 right now, so it's very possible that it is a fake.
However, this pricing is rumours, so you never know...

It says it is out of stock, they are certainly permitted to enter into their system 49 hours before launch aren't they? Can't expect for everyone that runs a business to enter into their system / website the second it is launched. Then they will be behind on orders that way.

They have been accurate prior launches and even sold 5870's @ $350 pre-launch, when newegg had them at $380 for example (MSRP). Good resellerratings.com ratings, they are legit. Remember, MSRP is not a break-even point for vendors. Their price listed doesn't mean it's at a loss...

P.S. They also have put up other cards a few days early, along with similar sites that take Ingram Micro distro data.

Thanks for the info on that website, wasn't sure of their history. For me PNY is not exciting, if it were a BFG or Evga then I'd probably be pre-ordering right now from there. However, I'd really like to see who has the OC'd or best version available.

PNY lists the GTX 400 series on their site: http://www3.pny.com/Categories/GeFor...Category_ID=13 (on the left, clicking it loops to the homepage at the moment though).

Huh? Correct me if I am wrong but 2-way SLI or 3-way SLI just processes the PhysX on the available cards right? So I'm trying to understand why someone would even want a dedicated PhysX with multi-GPU setup. Wouldn't that kind of be a waste unless it was say a older card like GTX 260 or 280 etc that wouldn't SLI obviously with new gen?

BTW with a lot of people talking about having a dedicated card for PhysX what games really will make a ton of use of it right now in that config?

@ GoldenTiger, ya a friend of mine at a board partner company tells me in not so many words that Nvidia has stuck fear of God in these people about publishing details / specs etc... Kind of funny if you ask me. So his place of employment threatened them the same with losing their jobs if they discussed it.

Are you on a "who'll be more anti-nvidia while making the most hilariously wrong comments" bet with eric66? If so, I think you're going to win, eric66's posts are way better than yours.
Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
