I just bought a 100ft roll of standard (not the "Easy Cut" dense weave stuff) sleeve from McMaster-Carr. It's good stuff in my opinion, but the weave is not as tight as the MDPC stuff. I'm happy with how stuff is turning out even though I can see through the sleeve to the wires somewhat. It doesn't bother me like it bothers some.

I always thought it would be a couple hours to sleeve a power supply and a couple fans and whatnot, but man... After sleeving 5 fans, a 3pin extension, power/HDD LEDs, and the power/reset switches, I looked at the clock and wondered where 2 hours went. A power supply is going to take me forever... at least 50ft more than I thought too. I'm going to need another roll.

Question for you guys: When you sleeve, after you secure an end with the heat shrink, do you then pull the sleeve tight over the wire (trying to stretch the sleeve) and then shrink the other end to keep the sleeve taught? I've been shrinking it however it lays... I haven't been keeping it taught but it's not bunched up either.

Yes, and I use self-closing tweezers to keep it taught while I shrink the heatshrink.

How do you guys are doing PCI-E sleeving on a Corsair PSU?
Got this plastic ring on my HX750 :

Pictures links on P25 are dead, so I can't follow the guide :/

Its a magnet. Cut off shrink from it with razerblade and break magnet with hammer.

Gotta love it when "use a hammer on it" applies to PC advice, lol.

Did a little more work with mine, I tried to just shrink the sleeve tips rather than actually shrink the sleeve to the wires. I figured it didn't have anywhere to move with this part so it wouldn't matter. Turned out great till heating the last few shrinks made the sleeve coil up a bit, doh! Top row of shrink is uneven as I ran out and had to use some scraps. I'll fix it when I get my next shipment. I also noticed a few sleeve bulges after I took the pic, a small tug straightened it up though.

Lessons learned I guess. Still happy with the result again. One of these days I'll get to that picture perfect sleeve, this stuff is becoming quite the addiction

On the Corsair HX series PSUs, you can get the plastic ring off of the PCI-E cables by using a pair of needle-nosed pliers to break it - then just peel it off the wires, because there is some glue on the inside.

Unfortunately I haven't had time to sleeve my whole PSU yet due to constant exams but now things have calmed down and hopefully it'll get done this weekend or the next!

Shawnoen is right, it's a magnet. Although I wouldn't recommend using a hammer. When you're sleeving the cables you'll probably take off the that 8-pins connector. If you cut open the plastic housing of the magnet, you should be able to slide it off without a problem.
