nvidia/ATi realized this a while ago. thats why they are adding features like physx, 3d vision, gpgpu, etc and ATi is doing the same with eyefinity, ssaa, 3d bluray, gpgpu, etc. both companies know their hardware is capable of more than just running console ports so why not find new markets?
