It's been 3 years and Fermi is late and I would be shocked if they could release for sale by the end of January.
I think anyone smart will wait for fermi anyways and just wait to see what both cards offer. Likely at this point, quantities will be better for AMD cards and prices better.

I could understand if there was some crazy directx 11 games or you had a directx 9 card. But stefan, didn't you have GTX 285 SLI or a gtx 295 or something?

I guess this is why it is xtremesystems but to say smart people should buy an ATI card for this generation and not wait for fermi when waiting will only save them money(which is a certainty) and possibly get them a faster card just doesn't make sense.

Maybe I misunderstood you and a person should not by a fermi based on what NV has done. That not a matter of being smart, but a matter of principals and emotions which is not the same. Frankly, I would rather be pragmatic and buy what is the fastest and also the best value regardless of the brand. I think this is the smartest course of action.

Also if you just had crazy cash and just wanted to buy a piece of hardware, I would have purchased another monitor I were you. Either more 30" or 2 24 to flank your current monitor.
