So what to get on UD3R rev1.1 board? I flashed one and have not tested others, any suggestions? What about that GA-EP45-UD3R - F12e?

Maybe there is better older one?

Look at some of radajas posts with the e8400, refs should work the same for your chip. Was able to reach 4.45ghz stable on a not so great e8400 using his ref's and settings.

But he never tweaked the Advanced Clock Control settings like skews I pmed him.

If you get bored and want to try for some new WR benches on a different quad let me know. My q9550 is bored sitting in the box it came in, I think it has potential for greatness for someone with better skills and cooling, its a pretty cool running 1.2125vid. Not trying to sell, will send it to you, I want to see what it can do.

I find max Vnb on my mobo........cannot touch > 1.7v on AIR, max only 1.66v ( i got a BAD ONES )

cloo007, it sounds like if you've gone through that much trouble with all of the other hardware, it's time to RMA/get new RAM. I hate to say it, but there seems to be no other explanation for the problem, other than maybe an issue with the processor. Speaking of which, have you swapped the processors?

What would the cpu have to do with it?

just got the GA-EP45-UD3P, and had a few questions of putting my computer
together...(kind of new at it, so please go easy)

i'm going to use my old Antec PLUS1080AMG case and my PSU is Corsair HX620.

so here's the questions:

- the Power LED connection from the case's front panel connections is 3 pin, but on the mobo, the Front Panel Header connection is only 2 pin....what to do?


- my old PSU Antec Truepower 430w (came with case) has a 3 pin 'PSU Fan Monitor Connection' that plugged into my old mobo(Asus P4P800).....

but my new Corsair PSU does not have a 3 pin PWR fan cable to plug into the 3 pin PWR FAN connection on the UD3P mobo....does it matter?

btw, what do i plug into the 3 pin SYS FAN1 and 4 pin SYS FAN2 on the mobo?

YOU COULD PLUG AN ALTERNATIVE SMALL FAN FOR THE NORTH BRIDGE AND RAM IF YOU'RE GOING TO DO A HEAVY OC.

Well I just got my EP45T-UD3P up and so far so good Running F8C bios.

o/t: just had a scare over the weekend -- my power went out & upon 'puter restart, both LAN and F/W went south. they showed up in device mgr in winxp and win7, but both had an error codes and would not work. flashed bios back to F9 and bingo -- back in action! flashed back to F10j and all is well again! just thought i'd share a happy ending!

after your suggestion, i flipped through the manual to look for "MSG+" thinking that it is a different connector...

but that "MSG+" connection is the exact 2 pin connector that's in the Front Panel Header that i was referring to. ( i think you might have got it mixed up ...but no worries

so my problem (i thought) was that my case Power LED is 3 pin and the mobo Power LED connection is 2 pin....but i was wrong

as it turns out though, flipping through the manual this time helped....apparently there IS a 3 pin Power LED connection on the mobo, and it's right above the "MSG+" connection.

ain't that how it always goes, search and search for something and you don't find it, but search for something else....and bingo! the other thing appears.

Agreed... I've always used the "officially released" BIOS options on GB's website, but if the F12e is better... let me know and I'll flash right away

Well I just got my EP45T-UD3P up and so far so good Running F8C bios.

Nice, So do you like better than the EP45C-UD3R and was it easier to get to 500fsb? I'm working on getting a EP45C-UD3R up and running with DDR3. I hope it will be as easy as the cheap EP45T-UD3LR was!

You dont have to flash the firmware. If that happens again just load optimized defaults in the bios and it should be fixed.
