    Stealth tube reservoir/clamps

    Update 1/26/10, final product pics:

I've been working on these for some time now... finally have some pre-production sample photos to share. The tube res has stealthed internal threads, and integrated anti-cyclone.

The clamps are made from lasercut and powdercoated mild steel, and are spring loaded. They will also be sold seperately in pairs as replacements for those that want a cleaner look than the plastic mounting clamps included with most tube reservoirs available, or for those that have had their clamps crack/break. These will NEVER break, I can guarantee that.

The clamps are compatible with both 2" and 50mm diameter reservoirs.

They'll be sold at Petra's and Sidewinder, possibly others.

I forgot to mention, the top cap is hollow so that it is easy to always keep the waterline above the viewing window.

Two plugs will be included, barbs are provided by the user.

Very nice, clean mounts. They sure look a lot better than those horrible plastic clips normally included. I made my own mounts for my res that I made on my current setup for this reason.

I believe so, I've seen pictures of them and they do appear to be 50mm diameter.

Yeah those plastic clips make me angry. It just never seemed right seeing these multi-$1000 builds with several loops and attractive tube reservoirs mounted with icky looking clamps. I wish I would have thought to make these sooner, I've heard so many people say they wish there was an alternative, but it never clicked until now.

    MSRP is $20/set of 2.

Yeah, with my products 100% USA made (I don't mean that as an insult to any other manufacturers, it's just more expensive here), I'm unable to compete with pricing on the EK, Bitspower, Magicool, and other tube reservoirs, so I decided to make a premium product and try to compete on quality, features, and looks.

    Thanks

I had originally designed the clamps as a mounting solution for my own res, but realized there was an entire market for them sold seperately as a replacement mount for the huge numbers of tube reservoirs already out in the wild.

Looks awesome. I'm down for one depending on how much of a premium you want on the Rez.

Btw, How strong are those clamps? It looks like if the thing is filled with water it'll come loose.

I'm not sure what you mean, they're spring loaded, so are under constant tension.

The inside of the clamp jaws will also have a tiny strip of anti slip coating, so there is pretty much no way the tube will come out.

Also, the res will cost less than almost any other tube res on the market, when the cost of the clamps is subtracted

I suggest you make sure the acrylic tube on the sides with threads is not too thin. As this is the weakest point and may crack too easy...
From what I see on pictures might be it...

Please let us know when these are going out to stores ill be buying a set or two for sure.

The above comment is important, the ek res's do have an annoying counter sink that means you need an extender to use with compression fittings properly, probably my only gripe with an otherwise fantastic product.

Eddy, if you read this. Is there a reason no other clips are available? I own the black clips and find them to be loose around my res's and too bulky to be attractive.

Masska, if you'll be importing them, let me know and I'll
    come pick up from you

Will these also be available in Europe (highflow.nl) or just in the US?
