    Thanks for any help

Try to change the Ref, set your CPU Termination to 1.200, then set CPU Ref to .785 and MCH Ref to .800. Then bump up the CPU Termination to 1.360. Ref are linked with the CPU Termination.

Some have tried the F11 bios and found it is less stable compared to F9. Most are using F9

for free...definitely it's an exchange for an experimental p4i65gv (i know= ) but i had to get something and the credit is only good at this store..
my othe4r two options were these:
    Asus P5Q
    ASUS P5QL-EM
    Asus P5E-VM HDMI
    Asus P5KPL-CM
    ASUS P5QL-PRO

THE ONLY one that even comes close is the p5q although i hear it has 8 gear switching - if that's important...but i don't like AMI BIOS...
or is p5Q the better board??? (it's a temporary replacement for a t2rsb - the sata has gone)
    thanks
the rest are g43 and g31

or should i just stick withe the original UD3L p45 by Gigabyte

you guys seem to swear by Gigabyte so i figured.......

    Thanks
edit: i just noticed it has better looking nb cooling, takes an 8 pin cpu power and supports RAID and DDR2 1200.....hmmm could that possibly mean better, although it's 10.00 more.....someone i know on the internet has one with a q9550 and he says it's good

although, i guess this is the gigabyte thread..... keep in mind though, it's only cause it's for free

    again, thanks for your understanding..

Does this happen to anyone else? Do I need a BIOS Update? / a setting changed?
S3 stops working at certain OC settings. Use S1 intead. It's really a shame that these great motherboards don't have a working S3 standby.

It's now 2009, not 2007. The LLC game has changed since then. JMHO.

your right.these new boards have much better power delivery systems.
those test were done when they first implemented LLC i think.

Maybe it's not a problem, but you can't use not dead CPUs argument because so little time has passed. Maybe the effects will not be seen until a couple of years of CPU use. You can argue that it's not a problem for you since you'll change your CPU long before that, but that doesn't mean it couldn't possibly affect CPU's life.

well yea but OCing will do that on its own too.
some people think that if you turn on LLC
your cpu will die right away because of this
    article.

llc or not overclocking will take a toll
in the old days i've seen some cpus last days @ 4.0 n some months my antic p4 is still alive and was @ 4.0 for most of its life and its in my daughters pc now
worst case i see is that a cpu dies or it will run only stock
only real degredation i have seen is with high pll voltage

I don't know whats worse, LLC enabled and having to put up with supposed miniture spikes which software doesn't detect, or having it disabled and making your CPU sip on high idle voltage

Talking Running 9800GTX in SLI on a Gigabyte EP45-UD3P

Hi guys, I gave that SLI hack a shot on my Gigabyte EP45-UD3P.

    Hardware used, Gigabyte EP45-UD3P / E8600 / 2x2 OCZ Blade PC-9600 / XFX 9800GTX Black Edition

    E8600 @ 500 4,0, 2x2 OCZ Blade PC-9600 @ 1200 555 15 tRD 8

    Here´s how I did it.

    1 - Install Win7 RC x64.
    2 - Install System and 191.07 Win7 x64 (WHQL) drivers.
    3 - Disable UAC.
    4 - Restart.
5 - Run SLI String Installer v1.81 as Admin select ASUS certificate.
6 - Run HAL Mod 0.9a as Admin

(Check out this for more info, Activating NVIDIA SLI on all motherboards, detailed HOW-TO )

Reboot, and we have a SLI capable system

    Enable SLI

    hi! i'm new to gigabyte..
got my EP45-UD3R a couple of days ago an im already starting to love it!
i was just wondering... i got some strange issues with tRD.
cant seem to set it right; its like this:
whenever i set 9 in both channels and restart i find that when i load back the bios the mainboard is actually setting 11 or sometimes (depending on the strap) 10.
i guess its just that there is something odd with this bios ver.
MemSet wont even recognize tRD in this board.. thats odd too!

on the other hand, thanks andressergio!
got the rig stable a 500x8.
im now at the point where the fun begins

i'll post some screenies next time i get a chance to.
it's time to lower some volts on this setup!

    cheers!

Thinking of swapping out my GA-EP45-UD3R with a GA-EP45C-UD3R...do you think I will need to re-install Win XP or since it's the same chipset and hardware (other than DDR3 RamI'll be switching to also)? My DDR3 system at work feels just so much smoother that I'm getting dissappointed with my home pc. I'm thinking it also maybemy Seagate HD that might also be the issue, I'm not sure. Any comments or suggestions welcome.

    not necesary mate!

on other thoughts, i would strongly recomendo you to migrate to Windows7 though..

OH what the hell, why not. You only love once. I just ordered a GA-EP45C-UD3R and some G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3-1600 to pair with it. Should be an improvement over my current GA-EP45-UD3R and DDR2-1200. Work PC setup has me spoiled.

On a side note, I really hate Neweggs price fluctuations from day to day and week to week. Worse than oil sometimes!
