    Mine does that too (2 clicks of vCore before CPU-Z shows it) Tool....it annoys the hell outta me. Although my 9550's a C1, i use :

    CPU Clock Drive.................................[ 900mv ]
    PCI Express Clock Drive.........................[ 900mv ]
    CPU Clock Skew..................................[ 0ps ]
    MCH Clock Skew..................................[ 0ps ]
    I also use .63 on MCH Ref and CPU Ref(anything over. 65 crashes). Your VTT seems low...I need 1.38 VTT and 1.38 MCH for 4GHz(471x8.5).

    Doesn't BIOS go in steps of .00625 and CPU-Z .016 if my mem is working correctly!??? That would explain the gap/difference.

    That could be, just never noticed it on any other board.

    I bumped my vcore up 1 notch (unread by CPU-Z) and the CPU Term up 1 notch and my settings are 8 hour OCCT stable now

    More vcore than I'd expected to use but 4Ghz with 8GB and nearly 10k across the board in Everest at only DDR2-942 makes me happy.


    Now for CAS 5 500x8 24/7 stability

    <3 UD3P + 4 DIMMS occupied.

    I have an E8500 E0 (have some decent potential considering voltage that he needs) + UD3P.

    24/7 config is 3.8GHz @ 1.184V stable several hours in Orthos. (except VCore (lowered = undervolted) only voltage modified is MCH, 1.1 => 1.18, all others are manually selected at default value)

    It seems i can't get a stable enough (for a benchmark) 4.5 - 4.6 GHz with resonable volts.

    I tried next step over 1.400V (BIOS) for CPU, 1.57 PLL, 1.3-1.32 MCH, 1.3 termination and nothing, freezes at windows loading. I find it a bit odd since i sucessfully ran 3DM01 with CPU @ 4227 w/ 1.28V or smth like that. I'd like to hear some sugestions, untill i try some more tweaking.

    LifeDrainer: Did you adjust CPU or MCH reference voltages? These will need tweaking for high clocks.

    Yes, they were slightly over default value. I've read somewhere that 45nm C2D like not so high CPU Ref but i don't know how true this information is.

    LifeDrainer, what FSB and multiplier are you using to try and get 4.5-4.6. CPU Ref can be left on Auto or it might like .785 (when VTT is at 1.20), but that's about it. MCH Ref depending on FSB most likely will need to be in that .70 to .74 range (again when VTT is at 1.20) for a C2D. Good luck and post some screenies so we can see some results!

    EDIT: 400 watt power supply for 4.5-4.6 GHZ ??

    Il show you all voltages, but at night since here in .RO now i have 35 degrees Celsius (=95F ?) in my room so is a no no for overclock. I was using 9.5 multiplier (480FSB). When i OC above 4Ghz i put 1 x Antec Tri Cool @ 2000 RPM to blow air near heatsink and one to blow air in NB direction.

    PS: Yes 400W power supply, good one. My sistem can draw around 250W in peak with no OC. If i OC CPU + GPU it can rise but not too much, i doubt it can pass 300W so it has a lot to spare. I tested this PSU at my friend with Q9550 @ 3.4 GHz + HD 4870 and it worked perfectly with Orthos + Furmark both running. Lot of guys exagerate (a lot) when talking about PSU Units, a mediocre Sirtec 500W can take the stress from i7 OC-ed + GTX295, tested ;P.

    Set the (G) MCH Frequency Latch to Auto. For 500 FSB 2.4B you might need around 1.34v MCH, maybe more with 4x1GB.

    help on bios flash

    if anyone can help me i will appreciatte very much...

    recently i flashed to bios F10e and tested it and didnt liked it as all my heavy OC failed, so i went back to F10b wich is great...but testing an OC machine rebooted and bios F10e recovered so now its the backup bios...is there any way i can make my backup bios to be F10b or the first one that giga came with ?

    I would suspect you need more Vtt for the above settings, and you may want to try using the Memory multi's with D on them, not memory will function when using B above 400 FSB

    mch clock skew. Should be at 50ps.
    Also your MCH voltage is way too low for that ram frecuency. Try 2.00D or 2.00B first to get it stable. Then move on to other strap

    Finally.,successfully boot at 4.25Ghz.,but the vcore is kinda high.,is it safe?not yet test stability.,just run 1MB PI..

    Sounds like it flashed your backup bios also, not sure how to fix that. I am curious to see how this turns out. I flashed my rev1.1 to f10e also and was unable to flash back to an older bios using qflash.

    bro sergio.,u can try flashed using gigabyte FLASHSPI utilities from website that come with the bios version.,flashed from F10e to F9 just now working fine..

    ezaleina..could you please post your batch# for your 9550? Mine is a C1 also...just got it ~6 weeks ago, and just got my UD3P(rev1.6) <3 weeks ago. You wouldn't believe the voltages i need to get >4.2, i've tried low, medium, and high MCH/VTT/PLL/vCore..and only high gets me there. Only GTLref of .633 will get me there, any higher is a no-go. Here's mine.




    My specs:

    - Q9550 C1(TRUE-2x Scythe SlipStream-1200rpm{68cfm/ea} push/pull) auxillary fans cooling RAM/NB/VRMs (open bench right now).
    - TRUE- slight lapping, washer-shim mod. Temps aren't a problem(21C-22C ambient-28C idle..60C load @ 4.25/1.425v{CPU-Z} )
    - EP45-UD3P (r1.6)
    - 2x2GB Mushkin XP PC2 8500
    - BFG 9800 GTX+ OC(760/2250/1885- factory clocks)stock cooling
    - EA650 or VX550.. alternating

    I think that bios F10e is really bad guys...

    I told you i lost my raid...

    Now i used flashspi to go to F10b....rebooted and i got a message saying

    "CANNOT FIND BACKUP BIOS ON HPA SECTOR BOOTIN FROM BACKUP..."

    and again it loaded F10e damn

    i tried again and worked but i have a bad feeling that F10e is stored somewhere....

    If anyone have a clue i will appreciatte

    Hey, so I finally got my Q9550 stable at 4ghz, but the memory seems to be what's holding me back. In order to maintain stability, I NEED to run 5-6-6-18 timings, and a speed of only 965mhz and give her 2.2V. This Ram is rated at 1066 5-5-5-15 2.2V. I'd like to raise the speeds a bit, maybe 1112 at 5-5-5-15. What settings should I change for this? Also, is there any setting that seems wrong here? Thanks

    Hi guys.

    I'm haveing serious problems to oc my EP45 UD3P. I've tried every that i tought and was possible for me and nothing tought 450FSB!

    Once i got 500FSB but unstable, just for few mins!

    The maximum stable that i got was 450FSB/1.41v/5:8 1080Mhz 5-5-5-15.

    Once i got 3.8Ghz(475*8 ) 1.43v with an ASUS P5Q Deluxe. So, my problem wasn't CPU!!!

    To get 4.0Ghz(500*8 ) i need 1.55vCORE and everything @ AUTO, but just for few mins and crash!!!!

    Can anyone help me?
