The Tridents are 1.8v, the Pi's are 2.1v, how will this work? I have never run 8gb before so I am just asking.

@andressergio Would you mind posting your actual bios settings for your 4500 stable that you have in your sig? If you already posted them, could you link me to them? thanks so much!

I have active cooling on them so i would think/hope the tridents could handle the xtra voltage. if they do 1200 at 1.8, hopefully they will scale good with more voltage. I'll probably just get another set to go with them. I had 2 kits ordered to start with but canceled the order and just went with 1 kit. We'll see tomorrow

so then a person like myself, that wont ever use 2 GPU's it would be wise to go with the UD3R? heck its only a few bucks more the UD3P might as well go with it so ican be with the rest of you guys...lol hardware that is. im still learning the OC'ing game. but ido have alot of good people here to learn from...

this may sound like a stupid question, but here goes. can a mobo cause a CPU to run warmer than another mobo. heres my thinking/reasoning to this question.
ive had 2 different cpus on this mobo i have now. and the temp now with the Q9550 are a little lower than with the E8400 they are still warmer than most others around with the same CPU on a different mobo.
granted its alittle warmer in my house than most probably but at idle right now my Q9550 is running around 36-40c on the average. and my
E8400 would run around 40-44c. i do have a nice 4-5c drop in the quad compared to the C2D. and i had my E8400 on a ga-ep35c-ds3r and at idle it was around 30-32c??? so can the board cause heat???

i have them paired with these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231246 I could never get the 8500 to do what i wanted so i ordered a set of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231271 to be here tomorrow. Anybody tried these new tridents yet? I plan on pairing them with the 9600pi. Anybody have any luck runnin 8gb at high frequency on this board? If the trident clock well alone i may order another set. I'll let you guys know tomorrow how they work out..

Also anybody have anymore news on the ep45-ud5? Thanks!!!
Good luck on those Tridents. So far nobody has reviewed them and we're all anxious to hear how they do.
I'm still struggling with my Pi 9600s and figuring out this mobo.

I'll have some tests done by this time tomorrow. Trident alone (4gb) and Trident/Pi (8gb). It sure would be nice if i could get the above ss with 8gb...

AFAIK the tridents are using the same ICs as the blades and if you put 2.1v through them there not going to be happy! The blades dont scale well past 1.9v and the 1 person ive seen put 2.1+ to his said they didnt clock as good afterwords.

And how is a gtx295 scoring less than a 4870 in WEI?

Been using F4 on my UD3P 1.1 forever @ 4.003Ghz with C1 Q9550. Are the newer BIOSes better (F10E)? F4 seemed to be the best for my C1 back when I OC'd it but that was a year ago. TIA!

I would also like to know this. Also, do you guys think that 1.4V on the Q9550 is alright for 24/7 use?

The first is my 24/7 settings, for some reason latency is lower in RC7100 build. I think the better score is due to the OS Sergio.

    CPU ref
    MCH ref
    CPU Core

I looked online and the answer is usually 1.3625 or something, but I see people putting 1.45 through these quads all the time...

Maybe your quad canīt do 4,0GHz without raise the vcore above 1,3625, maybe itīs to much for it, you may have to settle for less.

Go above 1,3625 for 24/7 is not recommended if you intend to hold on to that chip for a while, for a short while for bench itīs probably okey.

The ref voltage donīt work the same way as, for example vcore, more voltage higher GHz output, those value work best in a certain % of CPU Term.

I have found that CPU ref work best ~63,5% of CPU Term with 45nm dual and quad and MCH ref ~70% (for quad) and ~60% (for dual) of CPU Term, one or two step up or down from that should be enough.

I'm using 2 128 SSD's in RAID. That is partitioned 146 for OS and programs 88 for Steam games.

Good to know. Maybe i wont pair them. I'll test the tridents and pi seperate and just grab a second set of whichever is better.

You got me on the WEI numbers...dont know why it scores lower. I score 21k on 3dmark06 and vantage.

Here is where I'm at with my new setup for my Work PC. I was hoping for lower vcore than what I have, but not sure I can do it. I cant's pass large FFT's if I lower vcore cuz it fails in about an hour. I'll have to tweak more as I find time to try to lower volts, but I can live with this for now! I still am trying to figure out why my CPU Temp reads about 10c higher than my Core 1/2 Temps when stress testing.
