I ran 227 or so without the mod, and could easily do 200-220 with no PCIE Change at all, so maybe it is your ram holding you back? I only have two 3x2GB Sets, one Crucial and one Mushkin and have had no issues with either aside from a issue with the Mushkins until a compatible BIOS was made. Hyper IC's were not compatible with past BIOS's very well at all. Can you borrow a set from a friend to test with or have a buddy bring some over for testing? Hate to see you go buy new ram when you did not need to and the issue was something else
Hey again well i had to sleep a while but i DID test the ram before actually :P

so CL7 it did come to about 1700mhz with 1.68v more didnt help, then i switched to CL8, that managed to get all the way to 1920mhz or so with same voltage, then it didnt go further, nor with cl9 or more voltageö

Also tried to check max BCLK so i lowered cpu speed, and put mem on 6x, then it was a dud, no post at alll, just an endless loop.. started with 210.

    gaaah....

EDIT: tried lowering only cpu speed, and putting 8x on mem, 16x uncore, setting 215 in setfsb just locked....naaah i will sell all and get new stuff, so tired of this when there is no room for some playing, THAT was actually more fun with S775, this I7 just really hits a brick wall, no lines to strech..

Guys, what is the correct way to get 16x on 2 cards Crossfired?

Can I put first card in the first blue slot x16 and the second card in the orange slot? or it must both cards be in the first 2 pci-e blue slots?

They just have developed that a bit further, more fixes etc.. gigabyte have ALOT of boards, and cant or need to modify all ones at the same time.

Can you use 6 DIMMs w/ a large CPU cooler such as a TRUE 120? I have read that the first DIMM slot is too close to the socket and blocks it from being used, but I didn't know if they were saying it is unusable if you have tall RAM or if they were saying it is unusable regardless of the height of the DIMM. Thanks!

You should be fine with normal hight ram sticks but the patriot viper or similar looks like they will hit the fans on my noctua.

    Hi again,

I am still having problems with my system when I try to overclock, I have taken a note of the BIOS settings I was attempting to use for a 3GHz overclock...

It was stable for a whole day of stress testing with 20 passes of IBT on maximum stress setting, and Prime95 Blend, but when I fired it up the next day with the exact same settings, it started to reset itself after only 2 passes of IBT...

    Here are my settings:

I was using my Corsair Dominator 1600MHz 6GB RAM to begin with, but I have now put everything back to stock again, and have installed my Corsair XMS3 1333MHz 3GB set into the machine instead of the Dominators...

So far it hasn't crashed with this RAM installed, and I have been testing with Prime Blend, IBT and 3D Mark Vantage since yesterday afternoon, and it has been alright so far, so I am starting to suspect that it could very well be the Dominators that are dodgy, and not my mobo afterall...

I noticed in the RAM timings page in the BIOS, when I had the Dominator memory installed, each sticks Round Trip Latency setting had a different value, I haven't checked the XMS3 set to see whether they are the same or not, but is this normal, or could this be the cause of my problem?

I have tried to manually set the round trip latency, but everytime I tried that the system wouldn't boot into Windows at all... I just thought that each stick should have the exact same value like all of the other RAM timings are??

I am buying another UD5 on Tuesday, so I will have another mobo to fiddle around with, I will eventually build another i7 rig for my Fiancee, all I need to get is the CPU and a case now once I get this new mobo...

Can anyone here give me a BIOS profile for 4GHz using a D0 stepping i920, and 3GB of 1333MHz RAM??

I have tried 20 x 200, RAM multi @ 6x, and uncore multi @ 12x but it refuses to POST with uncore @ 12x for some reason, I then tried raising uncore to 13x, and it booted into Windows, but locked up after only one pass of IBT...

I use a TRUE w/ 2 fans + 12 gb of ram, you should be fine....as others have suggested, as long as they are not like the Patriot or those w/ a massive heat spreader than you should be fine =D
