Was messing around with under volting. Was able to get almost 900mhz oc under stock vid (bios) Prime Blend 1 hour, still running now.

Also my EP45T didn't like my micron based rams, but that could be purely my board...
I see, thanks for the heads up!

    Found the problem.
As you suggested, it's the videocard.
Popped in the X1900XT and it booted up normally.

Don't know what I might have done wrong, I'm usually very careful when installing a WC block, it never happened to me before.
Gonna remove the waterblock later on today and make a closer inspection on the card.
If it's still broke, to bad. Those 260GTX/216 (65nm) don't cost that much anymore.

    Thanks for the help anyway.

radaja, great combination of parts and a nice touch you have put on them. Good job. Your rams are super. That 8400 too.

CrytiK are you going to totally give up OCing?
"Not sure if I'll get back into it or what at this stage"
from your statement it sounds as if you have found
    something else to do.
if so,the community here at XS will be losing a top notch
member who's helped a lot of users.so i hope its not so.
otherwise XS will be losing a great asset for sure.
550 FSB stable at 1.29v is quite good, gives you a bit of flexibility when benching. Sounds similar to my E8400, it will clock reasonably high on low voltage, but high FSB (ie 600) is not happening with any stability at all. Keep at it, plenty of fun to be had with a chip like that. Makes for a killer 24/7 setup too.

Thanks for the kind words too. Not sure what I'm going to do really, have to see how things pan out.

Glad you found it, I had the same ordeal with my mate's Pc. I swapped almost everything but the mobo and Vidcard... yet the 280 worked 100% in my P5Q Dlx then, but when I popped it in the Giga it booted 90% of the time. That's not good enough ofc. Dunno what was the deal there as I swapped the PSU , tried numerous biosses ( which were available) Tried to underclock the vidvcard etc...

    pure hardware incompatability sadly...

Hope it's only the waterblock mount and that the card is not damaged. They are fab cards
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Thanks, I am considering trying water cooling. I'm not sure what to get. I like switching out hardware frequently, will that be a PITA with water cooling?

    OK Radaja.
We are both stable at 4.5GHz. We are both booting at 512X9 for 4.6GHz. Lets see who gets stable first. The challenge is on!

Sorry, thought I read that you had not stress tested. That may have been some other post. I haven't found the magic combination yet to get 512X9 stable. I think your memory is reacting to the high FSB much better than mine. All that being said, two hours of Orthos doesn't cut it for me as proof of stability. I don't count it as stable until 8 hrs of Prime, 20 loops of IBT, and several runs of Vantage. But, that is me, and you are you.
    Going to try 4.7GHz?
Do you set your tRef in Memset, or is it just coming up at 4794 on Auto?

im going to try,key word try for 4700 but first i want to see if i can lower my vcore for 4608
i dont mess with memset cause im too afraid to use it.i just open it for it to show my performance level in SS's.
so thats what the board sets.what does the tReF do?
also at 4500MHz i can run linX but at 4608MHz it gets way too hot for my air cooling
thats why if i could get my vcore down to 1.34v maybe i could run LinX.its strange that i can do 4500 w 1.29v but it needs 1.36
to do 4600.is it normal to have vcore not scale once you go above certain frequencies?

Yes, at least I have found that also. It seems like there are "thresholds or steps" where a certain voltage range corresponds favorably to a given speed range. Then the volts need to be increased more, relatively, for the next range.

yes thats what im finding.up 4580 vcore scales evenly
then when i go above that then it needs 1 1/2 time more.
im trying 9x511@4599 w/1.34v now,we'll see how it goes

Micron D9JNM from the first few ram kits i bought them from my local retailer some time ago,
i also have a kit of same ram model number but this kit uses Micron D9KPT, i haven't tried this kit since i bought it so i don't know how this one work in the EP45T board.
and sorry if the picture wasn't clear.

BTW, those Crucial you have, what kind of IC do they have, those Crucial that i get here i Sweden have Micron D9KPT and are Dubble sided?

couldnt get 9x512@4608 stable with 1.34v but i did get
9x511@4599 w/1.34v,i tried LinX but it jumped straight to 70c
so i stopped it.i set my mch ref back to 0.750v and set cpu
    clock skew to 50ps.

here i tightend up the ram timings.

Yes, at least I have found that also. It seems like there are "thresholds or steps" where a certain voltage range corresponds favorably to a given speed range. Then the volts need to be increased more, relatively, for the next range.
That explains the trouble I'm having getting 8.5x500-510 stable . I'm stable at 8x500-510 with 1.375 vcore BIOS. But I need at least 1.40-1.425 in BIOS for 8.5x500. Unless I'm missing something (which I'm sure I am!) How much is vMCH tied to CPU stability? Or is is strictly for ram?

I have fired up my EP45T-UD3P, I poped in my Q9650 and began with FSB 450 4,05GHz and 2x1 Dominator 1800C7 but it refuse to boot what ever i did except use the XMP profile but then it throw lot of volt, hmmmm, not good.

Well I switch those ram for my 2x2 Transcend 1800C8 and tried to boot at 450 1800 CAS8 but no way it would boot, what the %£#&

Tried with FSB 500 4,0GHz and ram 1600 777 21 2T tRD9 and yes it booted and I could run some tests.

I could almost use all settings from my DDR2 version of EP45-UD3P on this EP45T.

I´ll be back with some bandwidth, Super Pi and stability screenies.
