I think a lot of the guys using quads liked the f4 bios with the UD3P. Only one I didnt like was f8, I'm on the f9l bios now but am running a dual core. I liked the f9 for my quad but never tried f4 with it.

Was able to run a couple hours of Prime Blend at 4.5ghz no errors, stopped it because I needed 1.51xx volts CPU. Max temp was 68c which isn't bad for that much vcore.

I tried several sets of ram last night and cannot use the PL8 with 200D 1:1. I think its radaja's Cellshock ram allowing him to do this. I tried with 2 sets of 2x1gb kits 1066 Dominators-d9's, a set of Mushkin Redline ddr2 1000 2x2gb kit, and 2 sets of G. Skill 1066 4gb kit. Tried up to 1.40v MCH, it was set to turbo so maybe that is the problem IDK. I have 2 sets of 1066 Ballistix tracers that are d9's I may try later tonight.

DemonEyez: nice job with that q9650, 4.5ghz is awesome . I couldn't keep temps down with my Ultra120 to go any higher than 4.3ghz.
the only way i can get it to run 2.00D 1:1 ddr1000 pl8 is to set the timings to 4-4-4-10-30.whenever i try 5-5-5-15 i get no boot.very strange

Just courious...do any of you use any type of Line Conditioner? Not a basic power strip but a power filter. Had one collecting dust so I thought I would try it after reading a thread on it to see if there were any improvements with my OC's. Sorry for going off topic.

My PC is connected to an APC UPS RS 500, then it's connected to a servo type 1000watts AVR (My LCD is connected also to the AVR). I never liked using power strips for my PC cause it doesn't have a voltage regulator.

Thanks, I have an old HTS 3500 that was used for my home theater a few years ago, hasn't been used in a while. Thought it was worth trying. So far I still fail my overclocks lol.

I have my computer going through a Monster surge protector with stage 2 filter (however effective that is) and then through a cyberpower UPS with AVR. That powers my PSU and my primary LCD, my secondary LCD and everything else is on the Monster.

    Thanks for the PL clarification!

Thanks. Will Give F4 a try. And if that doesn't work i will try F9.

Have you tried F9l? because i have lost all stability with it.
Maybe something else is the problem on my setup.

Interesting for sure. I had a hard time getting mine to boot 1:1, 555. 5:6 was easiest. Changing to 444 made a huge difference. Currently 511x7.5 PL8.
I have been playing with "Extreme" setting. It is quite fast but hard to get fsb very high. Maybe easier w/444. PL9 of "Extreme" is faster than PL8 of "Turbo".

Hmm, interesting, will try it also. But I don't expect my OCZFlex2 with PowerChips based IC's to do Cas4 at 500Mhz

That's what your PSU is for. You need UPS/line conditioner/... only if the PSU can't work at all on its own.

Core2 doesn't really care about memory bandwidth and latencies, at least above 800 MHz. Go for maximum CPU clock.

Depends on what you intend to do with your rig, I doubt that you gonna see any different in real applications, benchmark maybe but not much.

I think that highest CPU clock have the upperhand though.

Got me a UD3P last week, was a Rev. 1.0 to replace the DK-P45 Plus (I wasn't that pleased with it, don't know why).
So far, I'm pretty happy with the board.
Reading the guides and tips about the settings helped me a lot, although I must admit that in the beginning, it looked like chinese to me (setting up CPU Refer. and MCH reference).
This was a new to me, being used having DFI boards.

Anyway, I installed my Q9650 and it looks ok to me, running 4Ghz with 1.232V.

According to the mathematics @ anandtech to calculate if a given trD meets at least the minimum requirements to get it "bootable" my values seem to be absolutely ok but if i go for trD 8 with 450MHz FSB 1:1 on the 400 Strap i am not able to boot :-( *confused*
Less i have, the more i gain.

need advice from where to buy

    Hi radaja
where did u bougth those cellshock pc8000 modules? I have a friend that is going to states next month and he told me he could buy some ram for me
he usually buys from amazon, zipzoomfly, newegg.
could u point me some cellshock, gskill, crucial, team group kits that are known to have micron d9 chips?(links please)
also I bougth the mushkin redline KIT 2Gb DDR2-1000 Mushkin 996525 4-5-4-11 ram and they are D9GKX but I can't get 1200 5-5-5-15 out of them stable
tried vdimm up 2.45, vmch 1.42 but prime 95 fails in the first 2-5 minutes (they were under thermalright hr-07 memory radiators at that voltagee)
is it posible that i got a bad binned kit?

i got my latest cellshock kit from a member here at XS.my first kit i got from memoryc.com and my second kit i got from another member here at XS.
i think you will have to find someone selling them, because i have not seen anywhere(online stores) thats still has them for sell
but just keep looking in the for sale sections at various sites, and you might just get lucky and find a kit
about the muskin's can you get them stable using pl9 ddr1200?
EDIT- your in luck! i found a kit of cellshock pc8000's cl4 at memoryc. grab them fast

well not really ... at least yesterday when I had time to test I didn't made it
but right now I'm running them at 1000MHZ with 4-4-4-10 PL9 on 1:1 strap 333 (2.00B) so they must be good chips
I wanna ask if u could save the spd from u'r cellshock with spd tool and send it to me or post it somewhere so I could load it on my mushkin set and see how it works

EDIT: they are at 1000mhz @ 4-4-4-10 with 2.16 vdimm set in bios and everest show's 2.13V

from the file menu ... u must select >Read->Module 0 or Module 2
an then File-> Save ... give a name like Cellshock PC8000 and Save .
all I'll have to do after I receive the file u save is to File->Write-> Module 0 and then Module 2 .... and my RedLine Mushkin's will be recognized as Cellshok's and hope will allow me easier OC on them .

Edit: Yes ... version 0.55 will do just fine. I have version 0.63.
