Dang, I wanted to answer this in my other post too.

2 pumps feeding into a Y is parallel which increases overall flow but does very little if anything for head pressure. If this parallel setup were used for say, a K350, the results would likely disappoint the owner due to the pressure requirements of that block.

2 pumps in serial increase the head pressure but does very little if anything for flow. Again, if a serial loop were paired with a high flow block like a Sapphire, results would likely disappoint the owner due to the flow requirements of that block.

You have to match the block and flow to get the most out of the loop.
