But now I own a Gigabyte board, and I would like to see how big the DFI advantage is in reality at the same clocks. So maybe we can agree on some clocks just like Vince's low-clock challenge and you will run the Everest benchmarks and Mafio and I will be happy to try and match your results!
    Deal?
    i done that
compared gigabut x38 and p35 with all my saved runs
the dfi utx38 beat em both clock for clock and doesnt kill harware lol
and the dfi ut p35 beat the dfi ut-x38
    i boxin my ut-p35 this week cause i gonna crossfire 2 4870s
yes the gigabut has ram clockin wr but i wanna see everest bandwidth lol

    simone you 1000% wrong

Oh, come on, don't kill the fun before we even began...
The question still remains, by how far, is it really 500-800MB/s?!
That would also be a good reason to get yourself a UT-P45!

So, please, before you box your board, let's make some runs so we can compare performance. I think we can already agree on dual core and 2gig of D9 memory and P35/P45.

dfi p45 DK has done fsb wr...not crappy UT

i have dfi p35 UT and dfi p45 UT and they are 2 different board...the first probably is the best p35, the second is one of the worst p45...

this is the truth...all other words are bull

try some decent gigabyte board like ep45-ud3r/p can help you to change your opinion...

the ut better than the dk

hey man, read carefully validate screen
as mafio says, dfi dk p45 made fsb wr
and anyway, ut p35 is much better than the p45 version. less problem, more clocking. with ut p45 people managed to reach (with much difficulties) 600fsb only a few time ago

i stop here cause this is not the proper place to discuss about this. and i'm sorry if you have had problem with gigabyte board, but this doesn't mean dfi are the best
goodbye my dear ut p35, i'll love you forever

i almost bought the utp45 last week was on sale 45$ off
i cant justify spendin 200$ unless i burned my utp35 i did try
i might burn my x38 its not as tough as my p35
take my word for it its 500-800MB/S its even faster in spi

    in 24/7 you don't see the difference between 10500mb/s and 11000 mb/s...

I can't and will not believe that a DFI is faster than a Gigabyte board by such a huge margin if both systems are overclocked and tweaked. At stock speed this might be true, as this is seen very often, that manufacturers use slow timings or straps at stock speed to offer bigger overclocks for beginners, but if the system is not running at stock, it changes.

zsamz_ is offline and I will have to go now too.

@ zsamz_: Do you agree to make some runs for a comparison? Then I would create a new thread later, cause that doesn't belong here.

to me its a waste of time
btw margin is small in real world apps
to me dfi is faster and more reliable
    utp35=utp45>utx48>x48dq6>gigabut p35>gigabut p45
only reason someone should have a gigabut p45 is for a quad thats about it
    lets get back to topic
gigabut suks that only thing i can agree on

    hey mafio, wtf...be quiet
he thinks gigabyte sucks, but maybe he just never tried gigabyte p45 extreme / ud3r / ud3p. these are almost like and even better than gigabyte p35 ds4 and ds3r, the best p35 by this brand

about x48 i think that if it's not a rampage, then it sucks

Okay, now I think we should really get back to topic, but I'm very disappointed zsamz_, please stop complaining about Gigabyte boards if you never tested one for a longer time and don't say performance difference is so huge if you don't want to make a fair comparison!
If bandwidth "suks so bad" on a Gigabyte board, I guess it's the user's fault...

I gotta say I love my UD3P and I never had problems with it!

This is my first "back-to-topic" post, guys!
I hope the rest of you does the same and shows some results.

Long time no see in this thread CryptiK...

I remembered this post made by you some time ago, and now that I had some time to test and tweak my RAM, I just tried what I could get.
Used my usual test system, E8600, UD3P and my beloved Crucial 10th Anniversary Edition.

This screen is dedicated to you:

Most voltages and settings can be found in the screenshot, this was the closest I could get to 500MHz FSB, cause I was testing in 5 MHz steps. 500MHz was semistable, saw it on CPU-Z, but it froze when I ran Everest.
500MHz FSB + 666MHz RAM should be doable with a bit more tweaking, but not now... I'm too tired...

Nice. Awesome OC on that E6600 man.
Can you run a lower Vdimm for 1200mhz @ 5-5-5-12 or 5-5-5-15 etc.?

Again a nice result from someone using Cellshock memory! Nice!
Maybe you can post an Everest bench next time!

I'm getting my first Cellshock kit ( 1066 CL5 ) soon, eagerly awaiting what they can do.

I think I must be the most unlucky E7200 owner on the planet. Mine won't do over 3.6GHz and it takes 1.45v to get it there as if to really give me a slow hard kick in the balls I can't get this CPU proper stable above 426FSB either. I know its not the board as its the same problem on 4 other boards I've put the CPU in.
