Finally some innovation in the memory watercooling department, though it was always stated that it was unnecessary, does that still hold true with new i7 and AM3 builds with DD3 memory?

Wait, it mounts to the RAM via screws. Wont that really limit the compatibility with memory modules?

So it... cools the top of the ram? I guess you have to have some pretty significant heat spreaders for this to work.

This is specially for corsair memory.
Normaly they have a small passive heatsink on the top.

i have sold my old ram freezer 4 a few days ago, good to see that this new come with black top and not nickel or brass
also interesting way to mount dominator, without those additional memory covers. btw do they look the same as freezer 4 now, just aluminium plates, or different?

also i'm very interesting to see what oc u may get at 1.65v, do u have any results?

It's the same way Corsair mounts their own peltier solution; must have some merit

    Any internal pics, Six?

yes, so u may unscrew corsair's little heatsink and screw mips plate.
    good tech decision

I think it's not effecient. Very small surface area touch to WB.

Well this solution might work decently on Corsair sticks since they actually have a decent heat spreader. I was thinking that this was a universal solution before anything contrary was posted.

DDR3 memory runs at lower voltages than DDR or DDR2 memory, so it hardly ever really needs watercooling. A fan blowing on it or Corsair/OCZ memory cooler is perfectly fine.

Pictures from inside i didnīt made. There are some channels in the plastic that provide a high flow (cross section 48mmē).
This is different to any other Ram freezer before and specially for Corsair memory. It has other dimensions also.

by the way you dont need to sell a Ram Freezer 4 if you own a new X58 motherboard.
You can upgrade the copper plate only and you have a Ram Freezer 5.

    RAM Freezer 5 Upgrade Bodenplatte
    Bestellnummer: MCH249
    Preis: 13,90 EUR

Also we have a Pom upgrade for the top plate of the Ram Freezers if someone ask to Mips.

We did not make any test about overclocking ability.
First thing is that it looks nice and second thing you dont need a fan cooling that produce some noise if you have a complete watercooled pc.
The price will be also low because we dont need to deliver our own aluminium modules for the memory.

Did you test the temperature differences before and after with with infared thermometer or thermocouple attached to the ram by any chance?

It would be interesting to the know the water cooled, air cooled, and passive temp differences.

at least top dominators 1866 and 2000 come in kit with fan module , so maybe active cooling is not sucha useless even at 1.65v

This is exactly what me and Bei Fei were talking about doing a few weeks back. I like the idea and my Dominators do get a little warm at default speeds and voltages. Since I am trying not run any fans this might be a nice idea depending on price. Any idea of price and availability?

Here we found a review where you can see that cooling corsair memory increase performance.

Price will be low but we dont have the exact price yet.

Sorry to dredge up an old thread but has anyone done a flow rate on this piece yet? I searched da Google and found this page. I have it installed in my loop and I think it looks great, but someone elsewhere mentioned it could be really restrictive to my flow. Opinions??

    Does this actually improve performance?
Does RAM need to be water cooled?
