How do you guys get sponsors??

I have a project I kind of started and I ran out of funds. I want to do some real fancy watercooling on it but ATM the finances aren't quite there and I see that many of you guys get sponsors to help you out. How exactly do I go about getting some sponsored parts. I've done more than a few builds and even a few decent mods like my hybrid air/water cooled GTX 260.

My next build is a g5 case mod with a custom sidepanel that I have had already cut, I just need some watercooling parts, some sleeve and a paint job for her to truly shine.

I also modded the apple DVD drive quite well to accept a new DVD burner without the stock case framework

I also plan on building a custom RES but I have to do some more research on the techniques involved, but I may abort it in lieu of abetter option.

Thanks for reading so far guys and any advice would be much appreciated.

Email vendors easy be good with your words and you have a winner!

Another thing I find funny is AMD/Intel would snipe any of our Moms on a grocery run if it meant good quarterly results, and you are forever whining about what feser did?

as others have said there are threads.

Its NOT easy, and there is no gaurentee'd way.
A lot of up to luck, and exposure.

The best way is to be active, think outside the box, and express your idea's and concepts.
If the vendor see's thats the direction there going, or want to go, they will contact you.

just been reading the linked thread. seems like being sponsored is more like a job/artist then a hobby to pass away some time.
never been attempted to ask or seek sponsorship deals as i know i wouldnt match up to standards on here, and find my slef often using idea's then really creating my own. but i am tempted to try and ask companies for a few bits and bobs for a small system i could use in my track car for data logging vids and connecting up to ECU. anyone done a car build on here before or put a roll cage on a pc?

pulling from what has worked for a friend of mine getting sponsors for his car, granted he had already had one car featured in a major magazine

he put together a solid packet of information, showed off his past work, his build plans, what events/forums etc. he would be at and going over the build in to show the level of exposure, and left what they would offer to them. He also updated the list with what over vendors had already sponsored him.

resulted in anything from freebie parts, to parts at cost

just bear in mind, he missed his deadline on finishing the build, and needed a few extra parts from vendors that had promised him X discount on everything, and they backed out on him
