when I overclocked my ram too high, I had the same problem. I had to clear the CMOS in order to get the blinking cursor to go away.

I say try clearing the CMOS and see if it fixes the issue. If it doesnt, and your using 3 sticks of ram, take 2 out, and see if you can get in the bios with 1 stick. If you can manually set your voltage and timings for your ram, then reboot and put the other two sticks in and see if it resolves the problem

    Good luck.

Max recommended QPI/VVT and DRAM voltages are 1.35v and 1.65v respectively (correct me if I'm wrong, guys). It seams to be safe to use higher values for benching/testing in shorter periods, but nobody knows the longterm effect, yet. It is an good idea to keep these limits for 24/7 until vi find more evidence, i believe.

How does this board run with 12 gbs of 1600 dominator ? I've narrowed down to this board or the Asus P6T Deluxe v2, I really don't need the extra bling like sound card and stuff, but would like a board that supports good ram clocks using 12gbs, can a cpu run with less voltage depending on the board ?

    thanks

hey guys i'm using the 2/6 bios, and i find that the voltages i set at the bios tends to be quite a bit lower than the voltages i read off smartguardian and hwmonitor, now i know those 2 are not very reliable programs in reading voltages, but i want to know which one's closer to the real deal, I don't have a DMM on hand to test the real voltages, so i want to hear from you guys, don't wanna end up frying my chip from vtt and vdimm being more than 0.5v, my bios vcore reads 1.235 and in windows it reads 1.2. Thanks guys!

So i got the bios back and its running now, however I realised that after priming for about 3 minutes, i hear a faint hissing sound coming from the mosfet area, sounds like electricity arcing or sthing, I didn't notice this before mainly probably cuz I wasn't looking for it, but now that I know about it its pretty obvious, is this normal? It stops immediately after I stop prime and starts again right after i start prime, I don't think its a short because everything's working fine, and also there's nothing foreign on the motherboard either, any thoughts?

Memory LowGap: is for mapping local memory (add-on-cards) to system memory address size. It most like AGP port Aperture size or PCIE1gen 250M fixed mapping size. Extend it can solve when if "add-on cards" request a bigger size as like we would like to enable Qual SLI on NV new 295, it must be extend over 2048M. Can confirm that with 2x HD4870x2 in Crossfire I had set my LowGap to around 2176 at least. With Highpoint 3520LF PCI-E x8 256MB cache controller added into HD4870x2 Crossfire, I needed at least LowGap of 2560 otherwise windows boots to a blank window and doesn't go any further. As to how this effects windows available memory, with single HD4870x2 installed and 3x1GB memory, if I set LowGap to 2560, WinXP Pro SP3 32bit sees 1.5GB available memory. If I set LowGap to 1024, WinXP Pro SP3 32bit sees 3.0GB available memory IIRC.

You need to Set VR Current Limit Max = Enable and then disable TDC & TDP. The IOH/ICH = south/northbridge. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi guys, I have a problem with this motherboard. I tried to overclock my i7 920 to 4GHz (19x211) and it can pass LinX 10 times (used 4096Mb memory). However, if I use windows media player to play mp3, I can hear a lot of popping/crackling sound(tested on both of my soundcards). I have already updated my x-fi vista x64 driver and my onkyo(VIA Envy24) driver to the most updated one on their websites. Right now I need to lower my BCLK to 209 in order to reduce those crackling sound. Is it an issue from the motherboard or vista 64? Anyone has this issue on their motherboard before? I read from other forums that this issue can be solved by increasing the PCI latency. Does anyone know where I can set it on this board??

I have the same problem on my X-FI PCI-E titanium. I however had this issue on my old 780i, P6T, and now my DFI. I just thought it was a bad soundcard, but I only notice it on music. I am interested in trything this fix to see if it rememdy's it.

I'm running @4GHZ (19x211) which i have tested only 1 hour primestable, 24/7 in several days now and it is behaving perfectly. I have used windows media player to play mp3 too, but never had this problem, under Vista 64bit or W7 64bit using the bundled sound card.
