@ Panging & SpeedEuphoria ,I try to play a lot with Cpu Reference and had no success with stable in 550 x 8 I try around 0.745-0.9 this range I can hold PC stay no blue screen. Also I try to adjust MCH/DRAM reference no success . I'm sure Cpu Vcore is enough for me to hold 4.40 (550x8) and my new ram kit can do 550 with 5-5-5-15 and not loosen subtiming very stable.

Any one try to play around with Cpu clk skew and Mch Clk skew ?
Now I 'm using MCH skew around 150-200 PS and seem nothing change...

I tried a lot of things also and nothing stable yet. My cpu can run so far max of about 4450 small fft stable. Then nothing works past that. So I was also going for 550x8 and messed with everything, skew of 100CPU and 200MCH seemed to be like it would work, but still fails. Then go back to 0skews and same thing.

Also tried the dram termination lower by 1-2 notches which seemed best for memtest, but didnt get stable. Tried more cpu voltage and still not stable.

Somewhere around 550fsb or slightly less I think I need to change PL level to 1 higher, I'll try later

Also I think I will switch to Intel burn test to see if I can spot things that need to be changed sooner, as prime seems to work sometimes and not others, same with super pi

545x8 is perfectly stable for me at only 1.22vtt and 1.26nb with ref's adjusted, my cpu is good for 4500 easy but i cant do 550x8 without failing prime blend... need to tweak...

    Hi guys

In cpuz my ram spd is reported as

    CAS# Latency 5
    RAS# to CAS# 5
    RAS# Precharge 5
    tRAS 15
    tRC 48

I have set the basic ram settings to 5-5-5-15 but under advanced everything is AUTO. Is it worth setting the tRC to 48? And which setting is it please?

Could you share your full bios setting with 545x8 ? And what bios version are you using? even 540x8 I can't stable. I can't pass memtest orthos...550 is impossible for everything
    Thanks in adv

@BuGjAE, what is your vcore voltage for setting to stable 440x10, and when you try the 550x8 what is your vcore set at? i'm just wondering.
what was the VTT value, could you show me the ET6's voltage for your last setting for the 550x8?

Just wondering if everyone else has the issue where you cannot boot from CD if Raid or AHCI is enabled in bios with a sata dvd drive. Tried to boot memtest and it doesnt boot unless I disable raid/ahci in bios.

I just hooked up a IDE dvd drive and it boots fine no matter what.

I have not tried the purple sata connectors yet.

I did try changing the dvd drive from sata port 2 to sata port 5 and enabling and disabling the native/legacy(all combo's). Nothing worked except disable raid. I also noticed in the 1st boot device that my sata dvd burner was specifically listed at the bottom of the list just above disable, so I tried that with all combo's mentioned above and still nothing.

It tries to boot, then says "loading..............." and freezes there. When you disable raid, it shows "Floppy" 1st even if you dont have one hooked up, then says "loading....." and goes right into memtest. Very strange, lol.

I'll test the purple sata next.

And on the subject of this, I have always disabled the onboard sata/ide on this board, up until I started using my IDE dvd drive and hooked up my floppy to install XP(too lazy to do a slipstream right now). Anyway anyone noticed any effects of having the onboard sata enabled or disabled? As far as OC'ing, since I have always had it disabled.

I think the 8-layer Kunyu PCBs the OCZ Flex/Reaper and Team Xtreem use help with those high clocks

    1. I think this is the worst clocking board I have ever had. So unstable with random results.

    2. I could not boot it with a SATA dvd on the controller and it set to ACHI. I had to move it to the purple ones and set them as IDE mate.

If I cannot clock this chip soon this board is going!

    no no

Its a great clocking board, you cant blame that you dont know how to clock the board, and say its a bad clocking board, look at this thread and see the resuslts, you need to take your subtimings off auto and set them manually. If you drive is a sata dvd drive you dont set it ACHI, you run it as sata, im running a sata dvd drive and its running on sata not ACHI. I believe the purple ports are Esata ports. Post your settings so somebody can help you out.

trust me phunky phish, clocking wise you must be doing something wrong.as for the dvd thing i cant comment ive never used the purples.but you are very much mistaken in saying thia is the worst clocking board(operator error).just look at all the results users have had.how long have you been trying?cause its not fair to buy a board and without doing some research and then expect it perform miracles, and when it doesnt do what you expect, post that is the worst clocking board youve ever owned

I have managed to get all the bits, cpu, ram, gfx, running stable on a Abit IP35 board at 425fsb x8multi.
I cannot even get 400fsb stable on this!

To hit 400fsb with a E6600 should be as easy as shelling pea's!
Maybe it is just me, maybe its just this board does not like 65nm C2D's?
Why dont you take a look at my settings on page 63 and see if you can see what I am doing wrong? But I am following the same procedure that I have used to clock on all boards before.

    Lock PCI-e to 100mhz.
    Increase fsb in 10mhz increments
When it fails to load windows increase vCore
If this does not help increase MCH volts.

P35 and P45 chipsets are not the same when OCing. You also need to tweak VTT, CPU and MCH refs, along with vCore and MCHv.

READ BACK AND RESEARCH. Also post your BIOS settings and a screenchot of ET6 volt readings with you damn complaints so we can better help you.

    @PangingIII
This is I can go so far with 550x8 only Small FFT I can do with this vcore in the past but fail everything on Blend or memtest. so far I change the kit to ballistix still the same unstable. and for this Ballistix kit I have to up MCH 1.4 or above to get boot certainly. For this setting I not touch about
"Clock Chip control" section just leave it at 800MV ,900 MV ,0PS,0PS

And sorry for my bad english if u don't understand something

lol this is the best clocking mobo i ever had, and I have had alot. I got 550 stable and just did a 9 hour blend run
Very nice I wait to see yr BIOS setting... TQ if u share

everything else is auto.... cpu features all shut off. pci-e at 100, nothing special aside from cpu and MCH ref, think they were .768 and .758

I dont use the giga software, sorry guys but i think its JUNK

    MCH Core...............................: 1.34V
MCH Reference..........................: [.XXX] Need to get ET6 to read .70 to .74 depending on your CPU
    MCH/DRAM Ref...........................: [AUTO]
    ICH I/O................................: [Norm]
    ICH Core...............................: [Norm]

The part where you say need ET6 to read between .70 to .74
Am I right in that you are saying set all this up as recommendation then run ET6 and see what is reporting, then adjust the voltage to above recommendations?

Just checking as I obviously cannot get to grips with this mobo
