If I drop it 0,02v LinX gives error witin loop 35 - 45 but Prime blend are ok same goes for MCH core, if I drop 0,02v Prime blend fails but LinX ok.

This is with the Ref that is shown in ET6, they are the most stable for me at that FSB.

I've just gone ahead and picked up a EP45-UD3R along with a Q6600 and a Dominator 4gig kit of TWIN2X4096-8500C5D. In route from the egg to arrive tomorrow. I plan on using my D5 pump, BIX-II Dual 120mm Rad, 1/2" with a new Swiftech GTZ block. Pretty killer I know and less than $450. Along with the boost my 280 will get I'm stoked. My old OCZ ddr500 is on it's last leg and gave me the excuse I needed to finally upgrade. It's to be my 24/7 main rig for gaming and everything else. I've spent the better part of the week reading and prepping as I haven't touched a single 775 board yet. I'm looking for around 3.5GHz.

I'm only on page 27 and about to pass out and wondering if someone could advise me on the best BIOS to use for now?
What the difference is from EP45T & C to EP45?
If I may encounter any issues with the components compatibility?
I have a bunch of extra mosfet heatsinks and little fans, anything you guys might suggest I attach them to?
Thanks in advance for any answers.

First overclocking attempt on a Q9300 with EP45-UD3R board, with the very first BIOS setting to boot the CPU at 480fsb, i was not even sure the system would boot into Windows.

    PLL 1,50
    VTT 1,30
CPU ref. at around 69% (of VTT 1.20v)
    MCH 1,30
MCH ref. 69% (of MCH core 1.10v)
    Vdimm 1,90
DRAM VTT, Channel A/B ref. and DRAM/MCH ref., all set at 45% (of Vdimm 1.80v)*

*this setting may not be working with a different ram kit,
D9's based memory modules might not work at all with this setting.

4 instances of SuperPi 32M test only

I should quess you need to raise your MCH Core, run 4x1 ram are a bit stressful for the MCH, raise 0,02v at a time and retest.

Set your CPU Ref at 0.760 when CPU Term are 1,20 then set back CPU Term to 1,30, don´t leave it at auto.

You again Ghostleader, lol, help me on other forum, and now here, so let`s talk about it.

Updated my bios to F7b. Still running 500x8 but different settings:

    CPU Vcore: 1.33750
    CPU Termination: 1.280V
    CPU PLL: 1,50v
    DRAM Voltage: 2.140
    CPU Reference: Auto
    MCH Core: 1.30v
    MCH Reference: 0.750 (ET6 = 0.700)
    ICH I/O: 1.50v
    ICH Core: 1.10v
    TRFC - 48
    PL - 9

And rest is the same. My question is. How test my stability? Which program and how long time? Orthos? Intelburntest?
And if it fail? What change? Rise some voltage?

    Thanks!!!

Not sure if has anything to do with a fresh install of windows or the 7b bios, but my occt voltage values look normal. I put both on at the same time so I have no idea if one did it or the other (see first page for occt voltage fluctuations)

this particular Q9300 required quite a bit vcore volts when it's at 500fsb the CPU is also so hot and my system is an air cooled overclock so i can't do much more than just running a superpi32m test. it's time to find a good quad E0 stepping CPU.

I 've been flashed to F7b. And I think this BIOS is much different form the other,I got a lot of unstability which all same setting that I do in previous.
Anyone can tell what is improving? share your BIOS setting especially Core2Duo

I doubt for a long time why this board need to adjust MCH reference to get prime stable? It should be left to Auto like the other board... I use 0.68 MCH Ref with 1.26 VTT to get pass extracting WinRAR archive. but for this setting I can't run Prime95 then try to MCH Ref 0.70 I can run prime95 but got CRC error in extracting WinRAR.....finally I still not reach to stable point

So I have the UD3R and I'm having problems using all the onboard fan connectors. It has a total of 4. It wouldn't even boot with 4 fans attached. I'm also quite annoyed that I can't seem to find a way to set the speed manually on the CPU fan. I'll probably end up using fan controllers and connect all my fans to the psu, but I'd rather use the onboard ones due to cable mess.

Anyone using all 4 molex connections on their ud3r mb? Anyone found a way to set the cpu fan to constant speed? And not full speed.

    CPU Smart FAN Control

Enables or disables the CPU fan speed control function. Auto lets the BIOS decide whether to enable this function. Enabled allows the CPU fan to run at different speed according to the CPU temperature. You can adjust the fan speed with EasyTune based on system requirements. If disabled, CPU fan runs at full speed. (Default: Auto)

    CPU Smart FAN Mode

Specifies how to control CPU fan speed. This item is configurable only if CPU Smart FAN Control is set to Diabled or Auto.
Auto Lets BIOS autodetect the type of CPU fan installed and sets the optimal CPU fan control mode. (Default)

Voltage Sets Voltage mode for a 3-pin CPU fan.

PWM Sets PWM mode for a 4-pin CPU fan.
Note: The Voltage mode can be set for a 3-pin CPU fan or a 4-pin CPU fan. However, for a 4-pin CPU fan that is not designed following Intel PWM fan specifications, selecting PWM mode may not
    effectively reduce the fan speed.

It is in your BIOS, I checked as some do not have Mode Control but yours does>>>

What type of fans are you using? And where are the connected that is giving you issues?

So what is the verdict on the new EP45-UD3R bios? Is it worth it to flash from F5?

I found the smart fan and i currently have it set to voltage mode as i'm using a noctua 1300rpm 3pin fan. It's running nice and slow now, but i'd like to set it manually an not let it decide to incr. speeds as my cpu temp is fine even when the fan isn't running (under normal use and some gaming, not 100%load).

I tried connecting the top, side and rear fan that comes with haf 932. 23 23 and 14 cm, but it wouldn't work properly, not able to start the fans and didn't post. I could see the fans feebly starting to turn, then stopping, then trying again, then stopping. Didn't want to try that much so i didn't troubleshoot being a bit concerned the mb might die or something. I just pulled the case fans and set them on the psu and it worked fine.
