    @ ragheb - Nightmare !!, another thing I did at the same time was to uninstall Memset just in case this was changing the settings whilst Windows was booting.

    @ DerekT - Cheers for the heads up. 1003 is working well here too. I can now run Intel Burn Test and HyperPi at 475FSB

    You know what rob2k I think you are absolutely right about Memset. It places an entry on the in the windows startup files.
    I will disable this and see if that sort this weird thing up..thanks for the hunch.

    rob2k..Well done for your input. the mem timings now work but you neednt uninstall Memset, just uncheck the entry using msconfig and it should bypass the last saved file.

    worth a bit more work though as 200strap/tRD6 (above 475FSB) gives reasonable performance for CL8.
    All other straps are slower with CL8/1:2 at 500FSB.

    500x9 / 1000mhz / 200 strap / CL8 / tRD 6 / CT Strong

    thanks cstkl1 for the GTL, IBT stability is better than with my GTL

    Code:

    PCIE FREQUENCY =============================101
    DRAM FREQUENCY =============================2000
    DRAM COMAND RATE ===========================1N

    CAS LATENCY ================================8
    RAS TO CAS DELAY ===========================8
    RAS PRE TIME ===============================8
    RAS ACT TIME ===============================24

    AI CLOCK TWISTER ===========================STRONG
    AI TRANSACTION BOOSTER =====================MANUAL

    LOAD-LINE CALIBRATION ======================ENABLED
    CPU PLL VOLTAGE ===========================1.617
    FSB TERMINATION VOLTAGE ===================1.391
    CPU GTLVREF 0 ============================== +40

    NORTH BRIDGE VOLTAGE =======================1.603
    DRAM VOLTAGE ===============================1.908
    NB DDRVREF ================================= +12.5
    DDR3 CHANNEL A VREF ======================== +12.5
    DDR3 CHANNEL B VREF ======================== +12.5
    SOUTH BRIDGE 1.5 VOLTAGE ===================1.617
    SOUTH BRIDGE 1.05 VOLTAGE ==================1.100

    CPU SPREAD SPRECTRUM =======================DISABLED
    PCIE SPREAD SPECTRUM =======================DISABLED

    Thanks cstkl1 & cheapseats for your help. I managed finally to get the following setup see picture as per cheapseats above bios settings. Memtest stable after 100% run but have not yet pushed my rig to fully be happy that it completely stable at these speeds.

    Anyway, glad to have resolved this finally but now I want to hit 600 FSB & I was wondering what I need to put in bios in order to always get a 5:8 FSB to DRAM ratio?

    Thank you Glenboy.
    I was getting rather frustrated with my Cellshock RAM & I must say it is very finicky with vDIMM above 1.90 with huge instability in Windows. Nevertheless it maintains tight timings very well at that vDIMM.
    Now, I'd like to get into the 600Mhz Club...

    so far doesnt do much for vdimm voltages for me personally
    also y skewing is so important
    so far from my experience if i get 4ghz and whatever fsb super stable and all the skewing right.. then upping the multi and vcore is 100% confirmed and trouble free from any ram or nb voltage issues...this is y this mobo can do 4.5ghz confirm stable everytime
    the maximus 2 etc.. i can get today 4.5ghz stable 6 hours small fft priority 10.. and again tommorow fail in 3 minutes.. and next day pass 1 hour etc etc.. because of skewing..
    vcore voltage reduction ... cmd skews affects this..
    Thanks for your guide too will try that out later...
    Yeah that may solve my problem as well...as my E8400 E0 can run small FFTs overnight @ 1.33v/4.36Ghz but fails @4.5Ghz no matter how high the voltages I pumped...so does it means it maybe possibly related to DRAM CMD Skew? Thanks in advance...

    My Crucial Value (D9JNL) also have this problem.
    If I bump more then 1.9v no matter what frequencies I set (even 1066Mhz) it still got wierd memtest86+ errors. The error will count in but the details won't always show below the screen. And it's confirmed not overheat issue. While that kit REALLY disappointing as with 1.9v still cannot get 1664Mhz CAS7 Stable.

    Hi ci2kla,
    check the post (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...postcount=1812) where I managed 1800 with CL7 with my RAM.
    See if you can replicate it using the same settings..
    Good luck

    ci2kla,
    I see that you are using 0701 as bios ver from your sig. Have you tried 1003. Running stable at 485*9.5 at 1.4v & 88824 1T with PL=6 suprisingly & I think this has quite a bit to do with the latest bios.

    other settings in to bios are default

    i have tried with 472 fsb and 475 fsb but the ram is unstable help me!!!
    You need any spoonfeeding??
    ram unstable? try upping ram volts.
    fsb unstable? try tuning NB GTL/ CPU GTL for quad cores.
    test FSB stable? HCI memtest 3.8 run in dual / memtest86+ v2.01, test #7

    kekeke chill bro

    among all the asus mobo's i have used
    this is considered the hardest to clock
    as its even fussy on the ram chipsets

    easiest by far is the rampage ii extreme.. no idea why they even need a guide for x58

    well I can still remember just last 2 months I was getting mad sturggling to get 535 FSB stable on a DFI LP UT-X48-T3RS...compare with this board...just keep everything auto and adjust the FSB frequency to 600, fire it up, the BIOS screen pops up, bravo.

    IMO you must know what you're doing when you make any adjustments on overclocking...testing tools are also important to figure out which part of hardware is holding you back. Basic tools are like Memtest86+ v2.01 (Mostly used #5 and #7), HCI Memtest 3.8, ORTHOS SP2004 / Prime95, IntelBurnTest, Etc.
