So how much better would the 790i SLI be over my current 750i FTW. other than the TRI-SLI that I don't care for. what would I benifit. I'd have to get DDR3 Ram. would it overclock my Q9650 farther than my 750i can? although I've not even found it's limit yet on this board. I still need to do that also. lol.

Just thought I'd ask everyone's opinion there. as thats a GREAT deal for that board. it's still a good board isn't it.

I HAVE read all posts and I can tell you LOVE Nvidia.

I was the same (still am for GPU's) but for a long time now Nvidia are crap for Mobo Chipsets because they sat on their hands after very good NF2/3/4, NF5 was just ok and NF6 was a total POS and 780 is a total POS and the 790 is again just ok.

You do not need DDR3 bandwidth for a C2D CPU, total waste of time and money.

You need to put that POS of a Mobo in the bin and get a Intel P45 IMO (I have had the 680 and 780 POS's).

You have all very good parts apart from you Mobo, its a total waste and shame to fit a 45nm Quad to it, infact they do not even run that well on 780 and ain't supported on 680.

I do not understand why you defend it so much, its a POS and I at least can say I have owned both 6000 and 7(8)00 POS's.

If you got a P45 you would in about 1 weeks time after you get used to the multiple different Bios settings NEVER LOOK BACK and wonder how you can hit 500+FSB (2000QP, yes even on a 45nm Quad) with hardly any voltage increase to various Mobo Components.

TRI SLI is also stupid and a waste of time and money, you can for now game better on 1 faster GPU as SLI/Crossfire is not supported in all games, 2009 will still be about 1 very fast GPU (soon to be released).
