Nice stuff DingDong! I considered painting my shields too as the red clashed but decided just to toss them. I like the blue paint though, looks great. I still see a red Maximus II Formula sticker though.

    Ok all.

My little "other" thing was the DVD drive, I have been spraying it black but the paint on the BACK (Really the only side that you see when it's in the case ) is cracking. I have sanded it numerous times and started again but I think it's just getting worse, I'll see how it is tomorrow but I may have screwed this one

Anyway, new camera! I quite like this photo. There is no case backplate as i took the stock one off (my MurderMod one should be here soon!)

Maybe you could try the Ghetto solution I did when I painted the back on my drives!

Find some big fat black permanent marker pen that is smear proof and dries instantly. I bought my fat marker at an Art Material Shop, the pen tip was 12mm wide and ~5mm thick.

I took the drive with me to the Art Shop and asked what I could use to paint the back plastic with in the most easy way, and they were really helpful and showed me these fat marker pens.

I then let it dry for 24h in front of a table fan on slow speed, and the result looked real good later in my TJ07.

The only problem I had was to find the right marker for the job. Some markers from the super-market I tried out with first on an old drive - wasn't good.

This was 2 years ago and I don't remember the name of the marker pen, and the Art Shop I bought them from is now unfortunately out of business!

I remember though that the marker had a VERY strong smell that almost made me high and that the ink was very hard to remove from my fingers, so vinyl gloves is recommended.

So ask the Art Shops for a strong fat marker that has a good reaction with plastics (etches in) not too strong though, so that the plastic melts .

    Thanks for the tip!

    I'll keep that in mind

I actually may have fixed the paint after about 3 days on painting/sanding!

Very soon I hope! Charles sent it on Tuesday so hopefully it'll be here before the shipping dudes knock off for Christmas!!

I *MAY* have revived my DVD drive, well....I hope so. Good news is, I got my new camera so "better" shots are due

Don't worry my friends, I hate not giving updates as much as you hate not receiving them

the reason i love these cases so much is because of how versatile they are, seen so many unique and different mods on them, keep up the good work

Aww shucks, I was hoping to see some great shots of your beautiful build. Guess I'll have to wait a few days. Enjoy your Holiday ... I believe you're already celebrating Christmas, while some of us in the USA are still awaiting the sound of Santa squishing down the chimney.
